Poll Do you trust Atheists less? (52 votes)

Yes 35%
No 81%

I find it odd that Atheists are among the most distrusted groups in America - here in England, Atheists are mostly trusted like an average bloke (though England is tilting towards majority Atheist).

So my question to you ComicVine, is do you trust Atheists less like the polls/studies show? (for America - but non Americans can answer).

Trust has to be earned in some way imo. Therefore has no bearing on someone's religious beliefs or things of that sort.

This is what I think too. But studies/polls on the subject say otherwise.

No, because the people who I trust are people who I have found to be trustworthy based on their actual actions in life not their beliefs or lack thereof in a God. Besides, I never really ask people whether they believe in God anymore anyways... so your actions are the only thing that's gonna hold weight with me regardless.

On a side note as well, I know some n!ggas who "Believe in Jesus" and still owe me some money I lended to them... I know I aint getting it back. That just goes to show you how a Christian "Can" Be. Especially these n!ggas in America who talking about how much they love Jesus. Some ole Two Face N!ggas.

I still do not understand why there is, or even should be, a relationship between faith or lack thereof with trust? Trusting a person or otherwise is a decision made on a case by case basis and it should have no causality with his or her belief in a higher deity.

Makes 0 sense to trust or not trust because of beliefs.. Trusting or not trusting someone because of their ethnicity/nationality makes more sense than that..

How often do we even know someone's beliefs on these things before deciding whether or not we trust that person though? I think polls like that are meant to simply pull out people's brainwashing and inherent bias to serve their own purpose.

No. Well I am an atheist myself so...no...

I judge and trust people by their character and them as a person. I mean a persons stance on religion is part of ones character but it is not the factor I use to judge or trust a person.

I am aware of how non religious people can be treated and the discrimination and hate they face. And it really does seem to go unnoticed.

I trust people based on there character, not beliefs. I'll never understand why many Americans view Atheist as untruthful, though.

I don't trust anyone who believes in re-hashed modern mythology (the bible(s)) and states that there definitely is a one "true" "god", or someone who states emphatically that there is no "god" at all. The only definitive answer is that we don't know and won't know probably until we die. Any other belief is inane whether you "believe" or choose not to. NOBODY knows for certain.

Why? You should judge a person based of their character not there beliefs. But that's just my opinion.

I barely trust anyone. If I trust you its because of your actions. Not because you praise God or not.

I know if someone is christian they'll have a moral code based off the same text as my mine. I know atheists are good people but I trust them less.

Hard to trust anyone who falsely claims to know ,or 'believe" they know, what is going on as far as creation and what-not.

Unfortunately though most "christians" are the most immoral and evil people I have ever met and most atheists are usually a-holes in my experience.

Growing up in a Pentecostal cult and being repeatedly manipulated into doing "the Lord's work", I've found no reason to trust the "faithful" more than example of human pond scum. The words of the bible reads as "How To Swindle" to much of it's fandom.

@albusan: What does a charity have to do with how trust worthy you are? Donating to charity and letting people know you do is just for publicity and is selving serving.
