what do you read?
do you like reading books as much as comics?
Yes, I read. One of my favorite books is the original Hunchback of Notre Dame. I like classical literature. I also read the Art of War (seriously).
As for modern stories, I don't like a lot of today's writers. I don't like Stephen King. I do like Karen Traviss, though.
Not as much as I like comics... after all I am not on Bookvine posting am I? *looks around just to make sure*
Its got nothing to do with me being banned from Bookvine for criticizing books for having too many pages without pictures either... or personally threatening people in PM's
Currently I am reading a book by Arundhati Roy, The God of Small Things, also I reread Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy recently. I read them before they got all famous and like, but I watched the last movie recently and just wanted to reread the books again to familiarize myself with book versions.
" Yes. i do like reading books as much as comics.I feel like he is a very simplistic writer, that's all. His choice of words and the length of his stories makes people think he's a good writer, but I find that he's not that great of a story teller. Nothing personal, but it's just something I've noticed in his works. I kind of liked the Long Walk, though.
@JediXMan: Why don't you like Stephen King? "
Nope, not at all reguler books bore me ALOT and hte only one that i would want to read that wouldent bore me is a book my older borther told me about called Olympos but i have'ent gotten around to it...ring worl may be good to but anyways no i was never realy intrested in reguler/Capter books or what the hell you want to call them i dont realy care.
Actually I read comics a an alternative to reading books.I need to read because...you know, it's paramount but I can't read novels because they are too long.I can't just sit there and read word after word after word...Comics are straight to the point and give you a visual so you can see what's happening rather than imagining it.
I do, I just don't have the ability to sit a whole book straight thru in one sitting, to many distractions. Then I lose my page and have to start all over again, gets tedious.
But I do read books, 'specially when I remember to use a book mark.
@Vance Astro: Look for some Gordon Korman, it's "junior" reading but he's got some really good books in multi parts.......(book 1, book 2, ect) that are short, funny, and actually good reads. The Macdonald Hall books are some of his best reads. Looking at his site, I see a couple I missed.
