Seems like seven years ago every video game had a cheat. Things like infinite health, ammo, money, or one hit kills. Now only a select few have it. Do you believe cheats help or hurt gameplay experience .

Help. Anyone who says they hurt aren't thinking

I mean its OPTIONAL.

I loved cheating on GTA San Andreas. It was so goddamn awesome summoning war tanks and jets to destroy everything on sight. At least until I found out there were some penalties...

Course I do. Cheats make a game really fun for when you just wanna screw around.

I lied to myself every playthrough. "I'll level up legit this time". Nope. I'd beat Giovanni and go nuts with rare candy for the Elite 4

Cheats were cool. I'm glad I don't play that many games any more, this current gen sucks.

I think it would help but only if next gen games become harder

I don't need cheats, I'm that good.

The early GTA games (up to 3) would not have been fun at ALL without massive amounts of cheats.

I believe they help gameplay. Cheats are what made videogames awesome as it is. They spice up gameplay and provide more entertainment.

Good ole days!!!

Yes.

It is probably just me, but i feel now-a-days developers are just trying to make movies instead of actual games, so non-serious things like cheats were removed to pass a ''mature'' image.

Probably just me though.....

I'd say that's the case with a lot of mainstream stuff.

IIRC, Mass Effect 3's developers said they didnt add a final boss because they thought it would be too ''video-gamey''.....seems like video-games arent meant to be very ''fun'' anymore.

@Matezoide2:

Yeah, while I enjoy the medium getting some depth. I do think it's stupid that so many companies are gutting their own games to make them seem more "mature".
