"Do as I say, not as I do" vs. Leading by example
"Do as I say, not as I do" vs. Leading by example
Firm believer in leading by example. But everyone is different so a leader needs a broad vision, and just flexibility. Too many parents make the mistake of trying to have their children be a carbon copy of themselves (to give one example). And sadly, by example, they often pawn off their shortcomings onto their kids as well. So what one does, says and how one behaves has a HUGE impact on those around us. Lead by example with regards good character building, but let those around you be authentic to who they are as a person (especially you kids and those closest to you).
I believe in a solid mix of both, rather than one or the other. Different situations call for different approaches.
You should always lead by example what right do u have to tell me what to do when u can't even do it yourself?
