DMC is better than Devil May Cry 2 and 4

#1 Posted by joshmightbe (19433 posts) - 4 months, 1 day ago - Show Bio

Okay folks relax its no where near as good as the first game, and its about even with 3 but it blows 4 away and I think we can all agree 2 was the worst of the series. If you're worried cause Dante has brown hair, A. Its a nit pick calm down and B. He has white hair in devil trigger mode and by the end of the game he's hair has become permanent white so chill.

I didn't know you were a gamer. =O I'll be picking up the game soon hopefully. Glad to hear about this and the positive reviews it's been receiving.

@Samimista: Its not a perfect game or anything but its definitely a good one, I was more posting this for those cry baby fans who are acting like the game makers killed their brother or something.

I've only played DMC4 and I wasn't impressed. :/

LMAO! xD That actually sums it up really well lol. I'm a fan of the series and was a bit unsure at first but honestly, as long as it's good I don't mind. DMC needs more good games.

DmC is a great game and the the pepole that hate on it for no reason other than it's different needs to build a bridge

#7 Posted by joshmightbe (19433 posts) - 4 months, 1 day ago - Show Bio

@Samimista: Dante has a much more foul mouth in this one but other than that I don't really see a huge difference from the old Dante aside from being a little less mature but then again this is a younger version so he's kind of supposed to be.

No, DMC 2 is awesome and DMC 4 is perfect compared to the new DMC.

Sue me.

Call me a fanboy if you want, I don't care.

#11 Posted by spartan92 (2520 posts) - 4 months, 1 day ago - Show Bio

I thought it was pretty good, story was rather short though.

#12 Posted by joshmightbe (19433 posts) - 4 months, 1 day ago - Show Bio

@spartan92: Short but looks like it'll have lots of replay value

#13 Posted by spartan92 (2520 posts) - 4 months, 1 day ago - Show Bio

@joshmightbe: yea it has lots of replay value. Plus really challenging, there is a difficulty were the enemy has standard health but you die in 1 hit.

The game is just barely better than DMC2. Nowhere near as good as 1 and 3 and not even as good as 4. And it's a crappy 30fps, too. Ugh.

I have only played Devil May Cry 1 previously. The new Dante looks freaking awesome though, so I will probably pick it up soon.

It is a reboot its not like they randomnly changed his hair in the old series. This is a WONDERFUL iteration of the character and anyone who won't pick this up because he looks different isn't a real DmC fan.... Characters are changed all the time (COMICS) and most people don't care.

More like anyone who won't pick this up can tell the difference between a good game and a crappy game.

Professional video game reviews are never reliable. They don't give high budget games bad scores for the simple reason that they get paid a lot in advertising money. You don't bite the hand that feeds you. The game is mediocre at best and a piece of crap at worst.

@Living_Monstrosity: have you played it? If so I guess its just a matter of opinion

Yeah. I'd rank it lower than DMC1/3/4 but better than DMC2.

this comment is a joke. The whole reason Giant Bomb was formed was because there staff where fired for giving a game a poor review even though they were providing advertising cash and they gave DmC a 5 star review. You letting your bitterness get in the way of actually enjoying a great game because of some misguided loyalty to a game that was never EVER going to be made.

Thanks for proving my point. A game with as many issues as DMC does not deserve a 5 star rating.

I bought the new dmc the first day it was out and had beaten it on Nephilim mode by that night. It felt kinda short but I am actually interested in going back and playing the Son of Sparda mode that I unlocked since it also felt a little easy. Having only played and beaten the original dmc1 as a kid I can't really compare it to the series as a whole but from what I remember mechanics wise these two games play identically almost. Overall I really enjoyed the game albeit short as it was. Dante is a bada$$ regardless of hair color.

Yea in your opinion. You can be all bitter and hate all you want but saying all reviews that disagree with yours (and there are a lot of them) are wrong and therefore must have been paid off is just straight up wrong, this is a game published by Capcom, you really think they have enough cash to be throwing it at all these game sites so they will get favourable reviews? If they were rolling in that much cash you'd think they would have done it with RE 6

@DoomDoomDoom: The hair color thing isn't even a valid point considering by the end of the game his hair is white any way. The only valid complaint I've actually heard is that its a bit easier than the previous games but so what? They wanted it to be more accessible, they still have the high difficulty mode for the hardcore gamers.

#29 Posted by Jonny_Anonymous (15639 posts) - 4 months, 1 day ago - Show Bio

@joshmightbe: well there is game modes that make it a lot harder, you'v got the three game modes you get at the start but you can also unlock four other difficulty's the hardest witch is Hell & Hell mode in whitch you die with one hit

Well Capcom was very money-grubbing at the time Resident Evil 6 was made they would suck out any dollar they could from all that DLC Drama that happened in early 2012, they probably didn't want to bribe mainstream reviewers as usual business that is away the completely ravished the game with insanely bad reviews. Just saying...

@Mekboy: LOL

@CaioTrubat: Come on duder, you know this game wasn't bought off, it's not just the big game review sites that are praising it.

#33 Posted by CaioTrubat (12000 posts) - 4 months, 23 hours ago - Show Bio

@Jonny_Anonymous: Okay. Personally I can get over new Dante's appearance but the game itself looks just average to me, gameplay and story-wise. I really don't see anything special about it that is worthy of so much praise but then again everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Everything about this game comes across as unnecessary. From the very heavy tone shift, to the dumbed down bosses, and bare bones combat, basic platforming and craptastic soundtrack. Oh somebody will say that, this game getting good reviews=worth £40/$60, again do to people forget about GTA IV on how it was showered with praise, only for a few months later a backlash happened when people realised how little the game was in terms of content & gameplay compared to it's predecessors and outright overhyped on it own.

I am in full agreement with this.
