What now? The beast f*cking sparkles in moonlight.?

I'd rather see the emma watson version directed by guillermo del toro.

I'm going to be open minded. Yes, the idea made me recoil, but no remake can tarnish the original. And it could be good. Maybe.

This is a late April Fools joke right? RIGHT?!

Well to be fair, the is a story that's been told many times by various studios ,

I wouldnt mind an adult version more closer resembling the actual fairytale, but I dont see the point in another disney movie that they have already done successfully.

I think it would be cool to see the characters come to life with modern technology.

Seriously though, it isn't like it's going to ruin the original story.

@bruxae: question: should there be a singing teapot?

#12 Posted by wildvine (8434 posts) - - Show Bio

Could be worse. SyFy could do an original mini about it. *Shudders*

The original already works well enough, if they do something they should change the story so it's at the very least different.

Well, if they are going to make a remake for Beauty and the Beast, then I wouldn't mind it being either darker than the original or in live action, because at least that's something different with the franchise. They sort of did the same thing with Alice in Wonderland with Tim Burton's version of the tale and now they are going to do a similar thing with Maleficent, so as long as they are not rehashing the same elements from the original Beauty and the Beast or taking away from it, then I don't mind.

Interesting...

I don't mind another version of the movie. I mean, it could be better than the original. What I do have a problem with is it won't because it will be a horrible movie.

Maybe I am wrong?...I wish

I've been waiting for them to remake Beauty and the Beast for a while, definitley excited for this. My dream cast below:

Director: Joe Johnston

The Beast: Benicio del Toro

Belle: Emily Browning

Gaston: Joaquin Phoenix

Lefou: Patton Oswalt

Cogsworth: Nick Frost

Maurice: Robin Williams

^I would KILL to see that cast

Why? And especially if your getting someone who directed any of the Twilight films.

I don't see why they're remaking it. The original holds up.

Yeah? The point?

They're remaking it, but the trailer was for the classic version; I was hoping to see a sampling of the updated version.

That's true. A lot of people still remember the original Beauty and the Beast.

They ran out of ideas.

I don't mind this. The trailer for the Maleficent look really good so a modern Beauty and the Beast would be interesting. People need to calm down and wait to see how it looks before going raging over this.

C'mon Disney. There's so many other thing you can do to make money, hell, anything you do will make you money.

So why this? why f*** with people's childhoods.
