Yup, no more hand drawn animated films from disney
Disney no longer plans to do hand drawn animated films
To be honest I though they stopped hand-drawing their animations a long time ago.
It was bound to happen. I for one am not to worried about because frankly its not like there's any new ground being broken in hand drawn animation anymore.

Princess and the Frog wasn't that long ago.
I'm sad to see this style go, but I hope it's replaced by the same style as Paperman.

Are you guys serious? Most if not all of disneys classics are hand drawn animation, not to mention the best hand drawn animation still looks a hell of a lot better than the best 3d animation
I honestly am apathetic I am not a fan of Disneys films.

You don't understand the bloodcurdling blind rage that entered my body when I read your post.

Why? Just because I don't like them? I see plenty of peoples opinions regarding tastes that I don't agree with.
Most of their current "Hand Drawn" stuff is rendered on computer to look hand drawn anyway, all this is doing is dropping the pretense

I thought this too actually. I always preferred the hand drawn animated style but this is fine I suppose as long as the films will still be in high quality with the writing and plot.
This kind of just makes it official. They really stopped doing them regularly a long time ago, once Pixar's CGI stuff took off.
Yay, now we get more s***ty CG animated movies that look like something out of a Nintendo 64 like Happily N'Ever After or Gnomeo and Juliet.

Its hard to tell when someone is joking and isn't sometimes when people aren't sat face to face.An easy mistake to make really.
While understandable as a business decision, it's a poor artistic one. Disney's non-Pixar animated films in recent memory have been predominately unmemorable (and boy did Cars 2, well, crash and burn). The love and craftsmanship that goes into the hand-drawn films has always shone through vividly, and if Disney no longer provides a place for it then someone else will eventually have to step in and fill that void. CG is everywhere; hand-drawn was one thing that Disney had to set them apart, and they've cast it aside. Shame.
Disney's ways were inefficient. They drew everything. Most animators would only draw the parts that moves.
Aw man, that's why I stuck with Disney because of the fact they do hand drawn movies. Hopefully, hand drawn animation will make a comeback in the future...
Are you kidding? They did tons of good stuff after that, many of which surpassed Beauty & The Beast, Lion King, Mulan, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Aladdin are all more entertaining imo. That's okay. Beauty and the Beast was the last good animated film they did.

Yeh, thats why I used hyperboles to describe my imagenary DIsneyfile rage
Upside to this is that Disney has FINALLY commissioned new 2D Mickey Mouse shorts. First one's up on Disney's site.
I say they stick these in front of The Lone Ranger or whatever new big releases to rile up interest for a new Mickey Mouse film in this style.
