Not one day, not one class although my ex and our friends skipped all the time. The last year of high school I spent mostly in the Resources Room and the teachers didn't mind so technically that can't be considered skipping. There is something called National Skip Off Day (although it lasted the rest of the week following prom) when everyone would hang out at the beach each day. Some teachers would come down and hang out as well which made it pretty cool and it didn't much matter since it was all seniors and pretty much done with school.
University is a different kettle of fish -- skipping lectures/seminars etc just doesn't have the same effect. No one cares if you show up or not.
