Death Penalty for James "Joker" Holmes?
No. Make him suffer so he doesn't want to live.
@YourNeighborhoodComicGeek: I heard he surrendered to police, if he wanted to die he would have gone that way or suicide.
They should beat him to death on PPV.

He didn't even resist arrest. I think there is something fishy about that.
Civilization and order isn't natural.
If we weren't held down by the weak he wouldn't be breathing right now. A monster is a monster. He walked up to a newborn baby and shot it at close range. He's not misunderstood, hes an apex predator and had he not been caught more people would be dead right now. He needs to be put down.
So clever.@cyberninja said:

Running Man It's only a matter of time.
Indeed.@cyberninja said:

Okay, I don't believe in things like torture or brutally murdering this man, but yes, he should die. That doesn't mean beat him with a baseball until it's impossible for him to even look like he can breath, or something of the sort, but just kill him. The world doesn't need a lunatic like him.
@Shawnbaby: You really believe that crap?
I don't see whats wrong with vengeance. Especially if vengeance means that this murderer isn't being fed and sheltered with tax money that the parents, spouses and children of the victims are going to pay into.
There's a big difference between the Death Penalty and Brutally executing someone for the entertainment of the masses.@Shawnbaby: You really believe that crap?

I personally feel he should be forced to be a live test subject for physical or psychological experimentation... Maybe he could help with some progress to save more lives whether he's willing to or not.
The comments on this thread do nothing to restore my faith in humanity. "Oh it's horrible what he did, but we can torture and kill him since he did do it."

It's hypocrisy in action.@The Stegman said:

1. Killing is wrong
2. You shouldn't kill
3. If you kill, then you will be punished.
4. How will you be punished? We will kill you.
@HBKTimHBK:even though this is true... in this case, it just feels right to have this guy taken out for his senseless actions. I mean unless you are into the torture the guy for a while and then kill him type of thing...
It's hypocrisy in action. 1. Killing is wrong 2. You shouldn't kill 3. If you kill, then you will be punished. 4. How will you be punished? We will kill you.@The Stegman said:

Think of it like this, what good can this lunatic offer to the world? He already killed 12 people.
Think of it like this, what harm can this lunatic possibly cause the world? he's already been arrested, and this isn't like comics, he won't escape prison.@The Stegman said:

Now make no mistake, I'm not standing up for him, nor condoning his actions, they were horrible. but killing him is just creating a circle of violence. He does deserve to be punished though, i say make him earn his keep in prison, make him do the hard manual labor that regular joes do for a living, the hard, manual, backbreaking labor type jobs.

What makes you dislike it? I mean, if it is lethal injection, then I don't believe it is monstrous.
Well it's not HOW it's done that I'm opposed, lethal injection probably is indeed the most humane way you can do it. I'm opposed to the fact that it's done at all, as I said above, punishing killers by killing them is a fallacy.@The Stegman said:

And keep the taxpayers paying for him to live?
@The Stegman: I completely see the logic in that. It is a fallacy. I'm much more of a supporter of the no-parole life sentence. That way, they can rot in prison for the rest of their life, regretting that they committed such an atrocity.
1. The process of the Death Penalty cost more than a sentence of life without parole.@The Stegman said:

2. Like I said, don't just have him sit around playing Nintendo in prison, make him work, earn his keep.
This is how I feel about the matter, why should the likes of honest and hard-working tax payers provide free food and shelter for the likes of murderers that have little to nothing to offer back to the society they've taken so much from and probably won't be deemed fit to re-enter society so will be incarcerated indefinitely at the tax payer's expense. I am for the death penalty when it's been proved beyond a reasonable doubt that someone has committed such heinous acts rather than life imprisonment which they could possibly become accustomed to.@Shawnbaby: You really believe that crap?
