being completely honest now, as a patient of high caliber i think, i actually will refuse a doctor who does not suffer from something clinical to a good degree, or acts too rational and sane and wont admit it. broken people can feel other broken peoples madness you know? i dont want someone trying to help me who only knows from observation of habits and textbooks, but someone who actually knows from experience and has dedicated themselves to the overcoming and living with it themselves.
@CATMANEXE: I have a "perfect" psychiatrist. Okay, he's not perfect, but I can't imagine he has any psychological problems. And I love him. (No, not like that. Ew.) But I totally understand. It adds a special brand of experience. I know my own life experiences, even the rare aspects of me, have helped me better understand and help people.
