Reasonable or absolute overkill?
@jayc1324: I should be doing life in that case.
@jestersmiles: maybe but messed up things happen in Florida all the time and no matter what state 15 years would be extremely excessive so I thought it was more likely to not be shocked by something crazy happening in Florida than stiff penalties
Just read the article and they also have to registered as sex offenders......WOW.....florida............
I was shocked until I saw that it was Florida.
It says in the article that this punishment was to set an example so that future people won't do it. I've always hated the way that people's rights can be completely thrown out the window just to set an example, people aren't pawns you can just throw away.
A fine or community service would have been expected. The sex offenders list would really be justified but really that's one of the worst punishments or all to have, for some. Any lengthy jail sentence is ridiculous.
A large fine and some community service is enough. Look at war machine! the that 4 legged fuck has only like 2 years in prison
@infinityball: He only got 2 years? Attempted murder, rape, assaulting 2 people and not feeling any remorse at all afterwards should get you much more than 2 years.

I'm not quite sure.
CV thread says "Couple get 15 years in prison for having sex on the beach"
Actual article says "and face a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison" and "face up to 15 years in prison" also includes parts about "Assistant State Attorney Anthony Dafonseca said that they will pursue a harsher punishment for Caballero, since he committed the crime less than three years after being released from jail for another felony offense. Caballero spent eight years in prison for cocaine trafficking… His girlfriend Alvarez will likely be sentenced to a lower sentence, since she has no prior record."
Nice try Fox News!
Don't know how long either will actually get sentenced, but "up to" doesn't mean "will", and yeah this also seems a bit bogus as far as using sentencing to "send a message to others" because thats not how people work, that doesn't cut down on crimes or behavior considered criminal, so its probably to do with someone being reelected to a position. Also to comments about being registered as sex offenders, well yeah, many places aren't that well structured as far as certain laws, there are places where consenting teenage couples can end up with one of the partners registered as a sex offender because of a minor difference in age, parents disapproval and simplified laws.

N%ggas stay riding SC's nuts.
@dccomicsrule2011: Hey, I ain't hating, ain't nothing wrong with having a firm grip on SC's testicles if that's what you're into :)
Wow...I would have thought public indecency in most states was a Class-A Misdemeanor or a Class-D Felony. That is pretty harsh to have it anything above the Class-D level.
However, it sounds like this DA is a zealot from my skimming the article. Unfortunately, overly harsh punishments is one of the main reasons our prison system is way over crowded.
@wolverine08: hahahahah
