Yeah, they are asinine and pointless. But, i just ignore them and move along to a topic that i care about.

I disagree. When original threads are created they are ignored and fall off the map. These are the kind of threads people like and will respond too. Post about the latest Hellboy book? No response. Post about a day at the local comic convention complete with plenty of pictures? No response. It's just the way it is.
