Check Your PM's

This will probably get locked up quicker then Micheal Jackson at a Sesame Street Convention, but the PM system is wack. Unless I'm expecting one I never know if I have one or not, I'll happen to check and I'll be damn, so an so sent me a pm 24hrs ago.

So I'm making thins thread for people to let others know to check there PM's.

I have mine set so i get an e-mail whenever I get a pm, and I'm almost always on msn so I know right away... But I can see how it would get annoying if I didn't have that...

I guess everyone has been paranoid since the you guys started cleaning up the forums. Gotta say it's been kind of amusing.

you know it works for like i say a half an hour and if im on longer than that it goes whak. i gotta check my pms every 5 minutes if i dont pay attention a pm could go unread for the rest of the night

I had a few PMs that wouldnt go away. It always said i had 4 PMs. I eventually found out there were 4 unread ones from like September. I read them, i just didn't click on that link. I somewhat fixed it, but now it always says i have 1 PM, and i cant get rid of it

If anyone wants to pm me, just do it. I always check my pm's every few minutes. If it's important, talk to me in a thread you know I'm in.

So people are making threads and posting hoping that they get locked? That's pretty much a waste of the moderator's time. I suppose there is a way to stop the senseless posting. Try to stay on topic.

ummm i'm about to check my PMs in case anyone wants to know

simple way to know when you've got a PM...

go into your 'my vine' and click on edit, then tick the box next to "E~mail me when i receive a PM"

for those of you with MSN, change you're e~mail to you're hotmail e~mail account.

that way, every time you get a PM, MSN with pop up saying you have a PM at comicvine :D

you can do the same with any PoP3 account using outlook or outlook express as they both have 'notification features'.

Y'know the little number next to your name tells you when you've got a new PM. Advanced stuff I know.

it doesnt show up half the damn time smarta$$. i appears as a 0 all the time practically. it only shows the number when i first log in. but then the damn thing stops about half an hour later

yeah good point so little number of flaws i think the scroll bar(the crap that can screw up an entire page) and pm system is the only thing that bugs me.

everything else is kickass. i love this site meeting so many friends and some very annoying people. its like life on here you meet people from everywhere in life. you can meet the emos the jocks the jerks doesnt matter. were all the same WE ARE COMIC FANS!!!! OR DBZ FANS IN SOME CASES!!!

i was thinkning the same thing

So, instead of submitting a bug report thread with your specs and providing some clue as to why your PMs aren't working or what can be done to address the problem, we get a thread that will be perpetually bumped in hopes that the one person you're sending a PM to actually clicks on it and reads it. Meanwhile everyone else in the forum clicks on it to see if its they that got a PM that needs checking. Not to mention you could, supposing you continue to have this problem, just click the little number next to your name every time you log in, it'd be a lot quicker for everyone involved than having to type into this thread and check it as religiously as clicking on the little number next to your name.
