Anyone has any takes on this matter?
Let's be real, they know why they were chanting USA...
You know what...enough. That's it. I'm just not going out in public anymore. It's gotten to the point where I can't stand anybody on either side of any issue.

Dude.
So with you.
We should make a club for Hermits.
And we'll have blackjack, and hookers.
This is too much, F**k all you P.C. Nutcases this is the dumbest thing I've heard all day
It's annoying, it;s not racist
@InnerVenom123: We just need to find a big enough cave...one that gets DSL...

Already there.

Hm....
I wonder if Batman could hook us up.
This is stupid and anyone who thinks this was racist is stupid, I make no apologies for this statement
If anything it'd be nationalist not racist. After all America is a multiracial country. Why would chanting USA at a sports arena be considered racist? It's showing support for your country in the world cup/Olympic games. It's weird that someone would consider a country a race in the first place.

Why would they be chanting USA in a US high school game then? This was started by a bunch of teens and, in my experience, teens are for the most part stupid.
Also the correct term in this instance is "xenophobia".
@dreadmaster: Don't try to spin this, the fact is the act wasn't racist it's just an abbreviation of the countries name anyone who was offended by it was more than likely looking for something to be offended about

Got room for one more? I need to take an extended vacation away from the world.
@ZombieBigfoot: We've got plenty of room.

Excluding a group of Hispanics/Latinos as if they aren't American, too = Racism.

Not spinning it, calling it like it is. Even the coach could see it.
This country is going to consider itself out of existence.

Already there.
Ditto. Is nice. Though I go to the store occasionally and get hit by incendiary speech? Ow.
Looking at the posts in this thread, I'm wondering if any of you read the article.

I don't take much offense to it, just annoyed by people who don't own up to it. Prejudice is still ever present in ALL societies. At least i believe that way.
...... The crowd of basketball viewers that chanted that need to be thrown into the sun...
An American team beat and American team, mainly made up by minorities, and they chant "USA?" There's so many dumb questions I have like...
Who let you in here?
AND
What planet are you from?

Like, REALLY cold?

I'm not denying that prejudice is everywhere. But, assume that this situation isn't racially-discriminant is absurd.

Exactly.
A high-profile high school in one of the wealthiest districts of the San Antonio region finds itself under fire after its fans chanted "USA, USA, USA" following its boys basketball team's regional final victory against a team made up predominantly of Hispanic players.
I am not american, and I would find it pretty annoying...

Well he used to have that problem, but I convinced him to throw in some tech to adapt to different human body temperatures.

I think i agree with you if you meant "assuming".

Yes. I meant assuming.

No, they didn't...
I know, right.
@ZombieBigfoot said:
I did, just that the stupidity taking place in current events is getting to the point where hermitism sounds somewhat appealing.
LOL.
I really don't see where this is coming from, if some people went to a see a Aberdeen Vs Dundee football match, would it be wrong to start chanting "Scotland Scotland Scotland"? this makes no sense to me.

Think if either Aberdeen or Dundee where made up almost entirely of English players, then add a little more national tension than there already is. That's somewhat what it would be like. Of course i'm not from Scotland so i don't know everything.
Most of Dundee's first team is Irish, I still dont see whats wrong with it. They sing the national anthem and play bagpipes before games as well.@spiderbat87 said:

Ah, I guess things are treated differently.
@Static Shock: At worst it's Xenophobic but as far as I know Americans don't count as a race so even if it is offensive for whatever reason people choose to attach to it, it is not racism
Chanting USA isn't racist but yelling it at another team of americans just because they're made up of mostly minorities is pretty f**ked up.

I don't understand why this is difficult for you to grasp.
Two American high school basketball teams were playing against each other. One of those teams, as well as the school, is made up of Hispanic people, a minority group. The people rooting for the other team, chanting 'USA, USA' is racist because they are acting like the group of Hispanic people there aren't American, also. Why would anyone be chanting 'USA, USA' while their team is playing against another team that's predominantly a minority group?
Your example is irrelevant to this situation.
Because most of the Dundee first team is Irish, how about reading the rest of the comments before jumping the gun next time eh?@spiderbat87 said:

It's not an issue of nationality. Excluding a group of minorities as if they aren't American is racist. Period.

Question. What race is Dundee's team, and what race is Aberdeen's team? Note that I'm asking about race, not culture, not nationality, not ethnicity...

@Static Shock: I hear the USA chant all the time at sports events most of the time it's just meaningless chanting, I most of the people in this crowd were just following the lead of the first couple dudes to do it with no motivation other than standard group mentality behind it, so maybe one or two of the chanters was actually trying to offend them but the activity in and of its self is not racist.
both teams are multinational, I still don't get what you are on about?@joshmightbe said:
