Posts on my Facebook and Twitter feeds are saying that Carmine Infantino passed away today. Can anyone verify this? I haven't seen anything reported on a comics or news website about it yet.

They need an official source before officially posting his death otherwise you might read that the new batmobile looks like a giant banana and spider-man fought a giant cat in his origin story

Definitely one of the greatest legendary creators in comics. I really want this news not to be true.

Interesting tweet by JM Dematteis earlier this evening on Twitter: "And let's not forget that, as DC publisher, Infantino was the guy who brought Kirby to DC in 1970: without him, no NEW GODS."

Now that's a legacy right there on its own, and it was only a small part of Carmine's long and illustrious career.

RIP Mr. Infantino. You were a Silver Age comic-art GOD! You will, undoubtedly, be missed.
