Because you can have nostalgia WITHOUT being a comic book fan.
In other words. Let's reboot your pop culture brain and introduce you to fresh comic books.
Yes. I've only been reading comics on a regular basis for five years.
This, but just 4 years for me.

What kind of question is this?
Yes of course. I'm not going to consistently waste money monthly for something that I don't enjoy in the here and now vs 15 years ago.

I'm trying to get into your mind and feed! MWHUAHAHAHAHA!!!

Not really
You can't even be alive without being nostalgic.
@scouterv: It can be fun but it can also be poison, people use it too much in battle forums.
Also it is the obligation of newcomers to study/learn about the shared hobby, not to mold it in their liking. Don't shit on the public pool.
Both should engage with open mind, but with respect of the craft.
@vivide: Like most things though, in moderation, it's fine. Besides, it's just the battle forums. It's all in good fun.
I'm not saying comics should be molded to new fans per se. I just think there are some good books that can make people more interested in getting to learn these things. All of the 101 Books that DC released for example, are pretty cool, even if you think you know all there is to know about a character or group. (It helps that their free so anyone can get them.) Not to mention there's Free Comic Book Day.
yup when i started reading comics (about 5 to 6 years old) all i knew was xmen , avengers ,spider man , batman and superman.
years later i discovered comics all over again with cable and deadpool, green lantern , invincible , the darkness, witchblade, etc . if i see a first issue of something ill nab it, just to see if ill be brought ito that world or not . some are good , some are not but ican say im a comic fan and i won't try hanging on to one company or charcter
@scouterv: Not here, ya'll are fine with some exceptions but anywhere else.
Aim books for the whole group, make something with the idea that it will hold up for at least a decade.
I'm picking up what you're putting down, but the same books won't appeal to different people. Long-time fans and new fans may agree on one thing, but not another.
Aiming a book a everyone leads to a scattered mess, and even today that's true with fans. Batman books aren't aimed at Superman fans and Superman books aren't aimed at Batman fans. Doesn't mean they're not good or won't hold up, just different tastes.
This question baffles men. Yes, you can. Of course, if you are nostalgic about an animated series or an old comic movie, it may help you get into comments. But, if I showed someone a comic, and they had never heard of comic books or superheroes (Which, you'd have to be in the poorest village in the poorest\most landlocked country on the planet). I'm sure they'd enjoy reading it somewhat.
Not all fans, but to be timeless. We all know those certain books that past and future fans cite when asked about their favourites.
And no doubt you could find at least someone who doesn't like those books.
Like, I'm sure you'll find someone that hated the Death of Superman, but loved the Clone Saga.
