Based on the Japanese Otaku's appetite for Dating Sims...no. I don't think so.

Video games are an outlet, a hobby, like anything else; there is a community behind it that offers tons of social opportunities. The only way to be reclusive is if you let yourself be.

Of course they can, the thing is that the person should go to the streets and use what he learn from those video games.

I just hope he never play GTA, because in that case the person should stay in his house and think about his life.

Is it possible for videogames to help people interact with others in society?

Why, certainly!

  • Grand Theft Auto teaches you how to interact with people
  • Left 4 Dead teaches you how to interact with zombies
  • Halo teaches you how to interact with Covanent aliens
  • Counter Strike teaches you how to interact with terrorists
  • Resident Evil teaches you how to interact with monsters
  • God of War teaches you how to interact with gods
  • Mortal Kombat teaches you how to solve your social problems
  • Street Fighter teaches you how to solve those pesky street fights

Sincerely,
