Sure. People are unique; individuals do not have the same likes and dislikes.

You mean like can someone's idea of pure bliss be someone else's idea of absolute torment? Yeah, I believe so.

The Christian idea of heaven is my idea of "hell".

Existing forever? No thanks. I don't exist before I am born and I don't exist after I die.

I just find it ironic that people find the idea of an afterlife comforting and yet find my view one of such depression.

Sure. An extreme introvert would consider extrovert-minded settings hellish, for instance.

Yes, one person might think having a harem of virgins the epitome of paradise and I would consider that a kind of hell for the virgins. That's just one example.

If there is more than one person (me)...there will always be a different point of view, just the wrong one (you). LOL

@theacidskull: Honestly, I have something planned for you and Lyko which I've kept stewing for some time, but it doesn't feel fitting to relay it on you guys now- I'll wait. I give props to @lykopis though, she breathed life into an otherwise aging joke. The warning was just me trying to be snarky, in that it could be seen as racially offensive (though I couldn't care less as I divulged the story in the first place), and the picture is somewhat risque (Yes scream Pot Kettle Black at me all you want, but I still have yet to receive a formal warning, unlike our diminutive Canadian friend here)

Its like role reversal- your comebacks and wit have really come forward in the past few days. Lykopis has always been good, but with you I'm pleasantly surprised. Keep it up :)

thanks. this coming from the troll master 3000, means a lot :)

@laflux:

I agree with the risque -- I took a chance and I will probably get rid of it since without context, it looks pretty bad, lol. Still -- NO REGRETSSSSSSSSSSSS!

@theacidskull:

That laflux is starting to post like you visually -- it's really throwing me off and making me laugh, considering how you think both of us are stealing your personality our ourselves. :P

Yes, for instance the classical depiction of Heaven where people hang out on clouds all day doing nothing surrounded by harp music and what not would be absolutely terrible to me.

Yup. In certain situations.

Something amazing can be torment for another and vice versa sure, I seriously doubt though that "absolute bliss" can equal "absolute torment" like in 100% nothing good/bad about it. To many variables.

Absolutely. The Christian concept of heaven sounds dreadful to me. If everything is perfect then there is no basis to judge it's perfection on. It would be monotonous in my mind.

No I think if there is a heaven that there is one for all. I believe if there is a heaven it's not something we can comprehend by our earthly/living standards.

Are you talking about literal heaven and hell or the figure of speech?

@blood_red_rage: I admit even though i posed the question it's hard to answer that cause the figure of speech could easily transition into the meanings behind the religious ones which are peace and torment

All heavens eventually become hell.
