Caio Rants? PS4 COSTS 4000!!!

I want to do something different this time, instead of reviewing games and movies, I want to address this f***ing bs that might be going under the radar for you people outside Brazil. After everyone was delighted to hear that the Playstation 4 is going to cost 100 US$ less than the Xbox One in this year's E3, Sony disclosed recently how much its is going to cost in Brazil and the price suggested is...

3,999 BUCKS!!!!

What the frak! Who the hell do you think we are! That we have money popping out of our bottons! Are we going to have to sell our kidneys and peform a blood sacrifice to even have enough cash to buy it?!? Needless to say, many Brazilians were pissed and tried many petitions to lower the price (as if petitions ever worked out in the past). Sony disclosed a table explaining why its price is so blown out of proportion.

Due to inflation, the PS4 would cost here 858 R$ (The real is the Brazilian currency), this alone is way too much for the average gamer to afford but the importation taxes alone costs over f**king 2500 f**king R$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To highlight how stupid this situation is, the XBOX ONE costs 2000, half the price the GODDAMNED PS4! THE XBOX ONE. CHEAPER. THAN. THE PS4!

You know this is the sort of practice that incentives piracy. Only some rich idiot with loads of money to spend on that. You guys wouldn't believe it, specially Microsoft haters, but the Xbox One has a better future here than over there - it still is overpriced as hell, but less than the motherf**king PS4. The only thing I take from this is the only good side of having the PS4 costing 4000 $ is that I am going to keep 4000 $. It would have been easier to find a Elder Scroll and a Piece of Eden in real life than buy a PS4 here. Peace the f**k out.

Indeed, the game disks alone cost around 100 R$, instead of 60 US$ the full price in US, so I have to save a lot of cash if I plan on buying anything. This sucks.

Well yeah, that's what I meant. But that's what I mean, considering inflation, Xbox One and PS4 are a ridiculous amount cheaper than the Xbox 360, PS3 and past generations.

Good point. Even so, without the importation taxes (which really are the main reason why this thing is stupid), the initial price is overblown as well with 800 R$.

@dragonborn_ct: Xbox is produced here and is more expensive, how much does it costs? R$ 2.200,00. PS4 comes from Japan (I think), yet, it's cheaper. With the taxes and sh!t, it should get here costing R$3.000,00 as a max price. They are just doing this, because selling it cheaper on USA, Canada, Japan, etc, will make them lose loads of money. Damn capitalism, man.

As you can see in the table above, PS4 is more expensive in Brazil than anywhere else.

You should look into other videos by Extra Credits. They have a YouTube channel, and they upload new stuff every Thursday. They are very insightful, thought provoking, and rather intellectual. I really like their approach to video games and the industry as a whole.

Wow... Here PS4 will cost about 400-500 euros which is about 550-687 U.S. dollars. Although I should point out that this price is about bundles and not just the console itself.

Its actually the other way around, the dollar cost doubly the Brazilian currency (reais). The price without taxes would have been 800 reais instead of 400 US$

At least its affordable for the gamers with average income if they save enough money. Oh and welcome back, CM :)
