Best Guitarist (Hendrix, Slash, Clapton, Vaughan)
Of these guys, SRV. He was just like Hendrix in many ways but with insane precision and clarity.
Little bit of this
No Eddie Van Halen or Brian May? for shame
and a little bit of that, also Mark Knopfler and Mr. B.B. King are missing from this list IMO
Ah SRV is in the lead. Smart people on this website
Hendrix was badass, don't get me wrong, but he is overrated.
SRV owns this list.
No Eddie Van Halen or Brian May? for shame
Where is Jimmy Page, Chuck Berry, Brian May, Keith Richards, and Angus Young?
anyway out of the ones you listed I would say Jimi Hendrix, he wasn't an amazing singer but his guitar work is amazing.
Of these guys, SRV. He was just like Hendrix in many ways but with insane precision and clarity.
Going with you since you know that of which you speak.
I think It's a tie between Eric Clapton & Jimi Hendrix. Both were really experimental & created badass riffs. For Clapton riffs listen to ''Sunshine of your love'' & for Hendrix riffs listen to ''All along the watchtower''
I find Stevie Ray overrated. Slash is one of my favorite guitarists of all time because I love his blues sound & he created one of the most iconic guitar solo's ever.
so...
1. Eric Clapton & Jimi Hendrix TIE
2. Slash
3. Stevie Ray
1. Clapton
2. Vaughn
3. Hendrix
4. Slash
I know Hendrix wrote some great music, but basically anyone who has played guitar for a while can play a Hendrix song with only a little difficulty. It's not going to sounds as good as him, but you can play the bare bones of it.
Clapton's subtle stuff he does puts him at the top. It's kind of like Hendrix, that some people can play his songs, but no one can make it sound like Clapton except for Clapton. Clapton was just a lot better at it.
Vaughn gets number 2 since he can play a song for 10 minutes without words and make it not get old. His non-staged stuff is just incredible, and he makes it look easy.
Slash is good for what he is.
