METAL GEAR SOLID (All of them They all rock even though I hate Raiden with a passion)
Resident Evil (1-4)
Tekken (I loved'em all)
Soul Caliber (Yes even Soulblade which was the original)
Devil May Cry (1 and 3)
(Side note) I put these games first because I remembered these first. I love a lot more games stretching from Sly Cooper, to Doom. But the one title I had to put was MGS because that's (IMO) the greatest game series of all time.
The Kingdom Hearts series is the only answer that matters.

If by "drawn-out" you mean two main titles with other entries serving to flesh out the universe, then I suppose so!

No, I mean too many subplots and not enough resolution. Plus difficult concepts to grasp without the pace slowing down and letting the game explain it to you (which it never does).

Kingdom Hearts goes 9, 7, 1, 2/6 (concurrently), 3, 4, 8, and 10. Then you've got 5 which is Kingdom Hearts mobile, and I'm not sure where (if at all) that fits.

The 3 Birth by Sleep kids are exact clones of the 3 OG KH kids, so that doesn't exactly count. And the only one of those that had a personality was Riku/Terra. Can't really comment on the rest, but they're all pretty generic.

And it all makes sense! It's not like it's hard to keep track of the order if you play the games!
No, it's an expensive thing that spits in the face of your loyal fans. Not everyone owns every system (or even half for that matter).
Then it's a good thing that the only two that really matter in the overall story are Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, and MAYBE Dream Drop Distance, which you could easily just Wiki if you didn't want/couldn't play it...

Ventus had a personality too, but I'll give you that one about them being clones.
Still, even if we don't count them, there are at least 20 original characters, which is no less than many games nowadays have.
Not to mention that pretty much all of the enemies except each world's boss were unique Heartless/Nobodies (and even some of the bosses were original characters).
Even though it really doesn't matter, as the characters from other pieces of fiction weren't just carbon copies, they fit in the story of KH perfectly...
