I love both Back to the Future and Indiana Jones, but I will go with Back to the Future since I love each film consistently whereas with Indiana Jones I love the 3rd film the most and the other ones are good but not as good as Last Crusade.

Terminator.

LotR? First was good, second was okay, third was crap. So no way I'm voting for that. Third Godfather makes Godfather trilogy incomplete.. The Matrix plain out sucks..

I will say Star Wars OT, Indiana Jones, and The Man with No Name.

I agree with a lot of this actually...I hate the Matrix. I'm not a huge fan of 2nd and 3rd LOTR, and the 3rd Godfather was awful. But the first 2 GF films are SO good that it makes up for it a bit.

The Godfather and Star Wars Trilogy are nearly always in the "top 5 movies of all time" lists.

First and second Alien are amazing movies, the third is okay. Same with the Terminator films.

The 1st Godfather yes. Episode 5 MIGHT appear but unlikely. Most top 5 lists are like...Citizen Kane, Godfather, Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, Wizard of Oz.

I truly doubt any film trilogy can capture the exquisiteness, and authenticity of the original Star Wars.

I didn't include those for a few reasons. Alien has 4 films, and SEVERAL creative team switches. It gets hard to lock down. Same thing with Terminator, 4 films and multiple creative team switches. Also, I wanted to keep the list to 10 franchises, had to cut out the questionables.

Really? Interesting take. Don't think I ever met someone who didn't think Raiders was the best. I respect your choice to be different :) I honestly have trouble picking whether I like Doom or Crusade better.

Yep. Like I said, Two Towers is okay, I can watch it. Return of the King is pretty bad.

Bourne, all of its movies was an improvement upon its predecessor.

You're right, I meant top 10-ish. If we're counting them as trilogies it elevates them significantly.

And yes, Ep 5 is definitely the best (I guess because of the plot twist), but Ep 4 is a cinematic powerhouse simply due to its impact on film.

Indiana Jones.

In my opinion, the only thing that puts Ep. 5 over 4 is the twist. It's debatably the greatest plot twist of all time. Episode 4 is the most important sci-fi film of all time, and actually, might be my favorite of the 3.

critics/filmmakers should really stop including citizen kane as the best/one of the best. Most influential and innovative sure, but hardly the best film ever made

Opinions and such. Most people nowadays don't care for it. But of all time, it definitely has it's place among the top. Personally I think the Godfather is the best movie ever made.

I soaw Bourne, then I saw toy story, then I saw Bourne again amd chose it. Nothing can top bourne!

The Dark Knight because I love everything about those movies. Except for a few major plot holes in TDKR. Then it's really tough.

The 3rd Godfather and Matrix weren't good enough. I never saw the 2nd Bourne. Toy Story isn't good enough (but it's still amazing)

And TDKR wans't weak? In my opinion Nolan last Batman movie is very far away from Batman Begins and TDK.

@monsterstomp: That's your opinion lol. I personally find LOTR to be boring and a bit over rated, but it doesn't matter what I think, because they're some of the best films out there. Just like your opinion doesn't really matter with the Godfather. Those films are some of the best ever made. It's a fact.

Surprised Dark Knight isn't winning. Glad it's not, just surprised considering it's this site.

Anyway, not sure about best, but my favorite is Back to the Future. Just found it the most enjoyable out of everything on here that I've seen.
