15. Under the Sea

No Caption Provided

A creative, cheery song where Sebastian utilized the wonders and talents of various sea creatures for a musical performance. Sadly, it wasn’t good enough to keep Ariel stay put till the finish.

14.   You’ve Got a Friend in Me

No Caption Provided

The only Disney-Pixar song, not only is it the opening to Toy Story, but it is also Woody’s theme and generalizes the movie and Toy Story saga best.

13. I Won’t Say I’m in Love

No Caption Provided

The Turnaround song for Meg, where she switches her belief in love from your level of belief in the tooth fairy to Darth Vader’s faith in the force. It also gives her more of a background rather than just being a run of the mill damsel in distress.

12. Reflection

No Caption Provided

Mulan sings about how she doesn’t see herself when she looks at her own reflection. It’s deep!

11. I Just Can’t Wait to be King

No Caption Provided

Cool lyrics and artistic vision for the use of the diverse number of animals that inhabit . The vertical circus like image at the climax of the song is quite a sight!

10. Savages

No Caption Provided

Song that speaks about real world issues such as discrimination, superiority, greed while staying in the realm of a Disney musical. The song also heightens tension as it progresses.

9. Two Worlds

No Caption Provided

The opening song to Tarzan. It sets the stage in grand fashion.

 8. Hellfire

No Caption Provided

The melodramatic tone really intrigued me about this one. This song defines Frollo and why he’s one of the best Disney villains (a list for later but you’re more than welcome to start one!)

7. Just Around the River

No Caption Provided

Pocahontas has the best singing voice. Really, I can put all of her songs on this list *hint hint*

6. One Last Hope

No Caption Provided

Phil is an under-rated support character; he’s funny and interesting which is exactly how I would define this song.

5. Strangers Like Me

No Caption Provided

Turnover song for Tarzan, where he discovers more about himself.

4. Friend Like Me

No Caption Provided

Chosen mostly for the associating visuals to the songs, Genie is a show stealer!

3. Girl Worth Fighting For

No Caption Provided

The funniest Disney song.

2. Colors of the Wind

No Caption Provided

The only character to get two songs in her name, Pocahontas’ pacifist nature is highlighted through this song.

1. I’ll Make a Man out of You

No Caption Provided

The best song, listen to it whenever you need any kind of motivation!

Is there any song I missed which is your favourite?

Mm, not bad. Hakuna Matata and Tale As Old As Time should be up there though. Also, I see a significant lack of villain songs :P

@The_Tree: Mulan is my favourite too!
@rogue_mar1e: @Aiden Cross: Beauty and the Beast was a great movie but I didn't like the songs all that much. I would put Gaston in Best villains though.
@FadeToBlackBolt: What?! That's like my least favourite Lion King song...

There's no evidence to prove he was, just because he included racial jokes and jokes about Jews in some of his early cartoons doesn't mean he was an Anti-Semite. Many did that at the time so you can't single out one man for it.

Strangers like me is and always be the number 1 Disney song to me. I love the Tarzan soundtrack and Phil Collins' work.

@DawnToDarkness: His song was ok. I never really liked him much; he was a failure as a king.

I like that very much. I love that and God Help the Outcasts, but my real problem is that they don't fit the original novel of the Hunchback. Hellfire is almost word-for-word Frollo's thoughts and words. Heaven's Light is another problem I have. But I have all of the aforementioned songs on my MP3 player anyway, because they're good. They just aren't on my list because of the reasons stated.

I agree with Hellfire. Its very powerful

of course I do have a soft spot for Sherlock Holmes and Vicent Price, so The world's greatest Criminal Mind from The great mouse detective was very enjoyable to me...

@The Stegman: That's debatable; I think it's Pocahontas.
@The Poet: The movie was great; but none of the songs stood out so much. Ratigan's song is probably the best one from the movie though.
@haydenclaireheroes: Ariel is the worst Disney star character!

@haydenclaireheroes: She was just too self-centered which not only got herself but people around her into trouble for me to like her much. She really didn't respect anyone, never listened to her father, was never there for her performances... she's was the biggest troublemaker which is saying quite a lot for a Disney character. And, then later she spat in everyone's faces with that Part of your world song and making the deal with Ursula, that somehow sea life wasn't good enough for her. I mean, sure the movie tries to make her a loveable character but compared to other princesses like Belle and Cinderella who made so many sacrifices to get there at the end of the movie, Ariel just doesn't hold up ;/
