Yeah, but what does that have to do with Beetlejuice 2 ?
Why do they need to make sequels of 80's films? Can't they do an original story? Or even a book that has never been adapted? Total cash grabs. Remakes don't bother me as much, because if they remake a movie and it's good, you have another good movie, if it's bad, then you still have the original.

That's the new "Golden era" of Hollywood for you. As the movie going public, we're supposed to want to see things we've already seen a thousand times before, because it's a formula that's guaranteed to sell.
I'm with you when it comes to crappy sequels/remakes, but unfortunately, it would be hard to try and convince PR people and Execs at Big studios that original ideas are better in the long run then remakes/sequels. Unfortunately, movie producers don't go for what's good "in the long run" - they only go for what's going to make a lot of money with kids.
Smells like someone wanted a paycheck, all kidding aside I wanna see this movie.
So Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian is a go?
What you did there... I saw it.

Well he was in The Other Guys are few years ago... so he has remained somewhat relevant I guess.

never heard of that movie tbh. i mean if you really think about it he was a huge name back in the day but you really dont see his name thrown around anymore. maybe this and robocop will manage to bring him back into the movie game kind of like how kiss kiss bang bang did for rdj and the wrestler did for mickey rourke
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!
I hope this movie is as good as the first one.
@jedixman: exactly
@king_saturn: I thought Frankenweenie was okay.
This is rather interesting news, I definitely will see this and am glad they want Keaton back as BJ.
Screw this.
Make Ghostbuster 3!!!
Thought that was confirmed?
I look forward to that!
@vaeternus: We live in a world where this movie has being confirmed over 6 times.
Still we have never see real plans to shot it.
Screw saying Beetlejuice, i want to say,WHO YOU GONNA CALL one last time!!!
@deathpoolthet1000: yeah lol i just read first it was ru ored, then it got green lit. Then i read bill murray didnt want to be in it, then i read they will use.his.ghost to help.him after.he died...then that got scrapped and then i heard they werent doing it.
Then ow supposedly it will happen eventually lol. Who knows. Youre right.
But i hope both come to fruition.

This was my initial reaction and is still how I feel about it now, especially since I saw it on the big screen a few months back thanks to AMC's Classic Movies. I was able to appreciate the humor a lot more now that I'm an adult than when I first saw it as a kid. I do wish they'd just let movies be one-shots. There's no need for everything to have a sequel as "sequel syndrome" is one of Hollywood's many problems. I do hate remakes too as they seem lazy and don't do much to add to the movie's mythos.
The problem with this is that they waited too long to make a sequel for Beetlejuice. By now, all of the original actors and actresses in this movie have grown older and it's possible that they might replace most of the cast with newer actors and actresses, which sometimes doesn't go well with the fans. But, I'm interested in seeing how this movie will go.

i agree but my real concern is will it be just like the original and not insane with cgi? what made the orginal work so well is it was in a sense campy. i forget how much it cost to make the original but i do fear they may throw like a huge ass budget to the sequel
