The hippo is one of the most underrated animals in the world, I've seen nature shows where prides of like 8 or 9 lions would clear a path for a single full grown hippo. Not even elephants will screw around with them if they can avoid it. And venom wouldn't be an issue because there is no living venomous creature that could actually break through their hide to deliver it. Other than humans with high powered fire arms the only real threat to hippos are other hippos

well the the dart frog is only slightly larger than the spider...But i think they would end up killing each other...

The elephants would be a problem but in the amazon how effective can they be? the snake could bite them couple times...

True the dense vegetation would hinder them a little. As for the snake I chose one of his main predators, the mongoose.

These battles could go either way depending on who is backing the animals

Mongose bites frog both die as a result

Hippo goes after Croc... croc either flees or stays and dies

King cobra bites elephant injecting venom slowly killing it... the amazon immobilizes the elephant as well

which leaves black mamba .... and the king cobra which hunts other snakes would be able to take it down

* Note i didnt even use my polar bear

Your team is good. However you don't have a solid answer for my polar bear. For that reason I win.

First off the raccoon is an omnivore so its not allowed.

I am not sure which match ups you were looking for but I am assuming

Elephant > Polar Bear

Rhino = Hippo

Mongoose >/= King Snake

Poison dart frog = Racoon

in that scenario you would win.

In my case I would go with

Elephant >/= King Snake

Rhino = Hippo

Polar Bear > Mongoose

Poison Dart frog = raccoon

In other words, could go either way.

Here is what happens. The Barred Owl and Australian Magpie swoop down out of the air with blinding speed and use their talons to claw the eyes of your slower, larger mammals (polar bear and hippo). This will cause significant pain, and hit them in one of the few areas that isn't too tough for them to harm, causing them to bleed and effectively blinding them. Due to the bird's air superiority and speed they won't be able to see it coming or react. This is supported by their natural behavior. Both of these birds are highly intelligent and territorial, and known for attacking the head and eyes of intruders, and even killing humans on occasion. From here the Elephant can take the blinded and confused mammals are have his way with them while the mongoose takes the Cobra and the birds eliminate the frog.

Actually the pythons take on leopards reletively easily, and have killed alligators who are considerably more likely to get one of them in their mouth than a bear because they have much larger and stronger jaws. While a bear may be hard, it's hardly over a large Python. It is conceivable they could both die.

Really I figured the black mamba would die, but it would do the job and deal with my deadliest foe of the team.

@lunacyde: The Australian magpie is an omnivore. Its debatable on whether the barred owl would blind an animal in character but honestly... your elephant wouldn't need the help to beat the polar bear or the Hippo anyway. The elephant has a Massive size advantage. Your Owl could also take the king cobra easier than the Mongoose could considering it would one shot. The frog was basically there to be eaten anyway so I guess you win.

@enemybird: Elephant could take either by itself, but I'm not sure it could take both at the same time.

Damn, I was really wanting to use the Magpie....oh well.
