After reading the thread "Isn't life pointless" I started thinking about many things.

I'm curious about what people think about organized behavior.

In America there is a lot of individualism. People often try to go it alone. They try to be a Lone Wolf.

Is this the best kind of behavior for success?

In other contries, like Japan or China, the family or group is more important than individual people.

People work together and achieve success through cooperative effort.

Which kind of behavior do you personally display?

Which kind of behavior do you think leads to more success?

For my schooling experience at least, small groups between people who share trust and focus are the ones that lead to the most success. And I usually go with small groups, like the biggest group I'll work with is 3 other people, but that's just 1 class and I trust them and they trust me...so that's my opinion.

Whenever I try to become a lone wolf I end up homeless. This has happened twice.

I prefer doing things on my own. People just slow me down.

It's been scientifically proven that working in groups slows down the human brain, and will actually cause group participants to operate a slightly lower intelligence (There are a number of reasons for this. For example, a certain amount of your focus is set on presenting yourself well to group members rather than the task at hand, stuff like that)

That being said, I still prefer to work in groups, simply because I enjoy it more.

Lone Wolf

Although if I have to work in a group I don't mind. I'm actually a good leader. (in some areas)

People annoy me, seriously, the longer I'm around them, even my ''friends'' the more I dislike everything they do, I'm definitely a lone wolf.

Maybe an individual person becomes less intelligent, but if there is a group of people that group is greater than the sum of its parts.

I hate people. Why would I work in groups with them if I can avoid it?

Lone wolf, with one very specific exception.

I'm a lone wolf, no brothers or sisters.

In the end, everybody can rely on, and fall back on, one person only - themselves.

in the end you are always alone

I prefer to work alone and in general be left alone. I grew up an only child. No father and a mother who stayed gone all the time. I literally raised myself. Being alone just makes me more comfortable regardless of my success or lack thereof.

True, but before the end you could accomplish more by working in a group.

True, but before the end you could accomplish more by working in a group.

Yet in the end, you are alone, and can only be truly dependent on yourself.

Wow, so many lone wolves out here on the Vine.

I myself hate being alone, but deal with it (while remaining efficient). There's something I just love about working as a group, and being with other people.

#30 Posted by Jezer (3015 posts) - - Show Bio

Depends on the situation. Some of them, I'd just go it alone. Some, I'd be more comfortable in with a group or a single friend.

I think I'm a half-loner.

should always be in a group, if you're alone you're an easy target. there's strength in numbers.

Question is are you a lone wolf because you want to be or because you have no other choice.
