Bad Boys 3 in the works!

After more than ten years since Bad Boys II, Martin Lawrence has announced that a script for a sequel to the action film franchise is in the works, we can assume that Will Smith will also be returning in his role as smooth cop, Mike Lawry.

So, are you a fan of the Bad Boys series? Are excited for this one? Whatcha gon do??

Eh, whatever. Only good movie Bay ever made was the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake in my opinion. And I haven't seen The Island yet, but I've heard good things about it, so maybe that one was good too.

Isn't that pretty much all action movies though? Never have I walked out of an action movie thinking "Mmm, yes, that was a gripping tour de force. It needs an Oscar!"

True, but the good ones are fun, have likable characters and/or try something new. Bad Boys does none of those.

I will always maintain that Freddy v.s Jason was the best big, dumb action movie ever.

Matter of preference I guess. I love the films and think Martin and Will are good together.

You could say that - but at least the great action movies give you something in the way of originality on occasions.

The plots are generic as fack, with zero originality to them.

Comic book movies, for the most part are action movies - but at least we get some interesting story lines and characters development out of the better ones. Of course one could say they're following the rich lore, but that only goes so far.

@theacidskull: How am I a hipster? From what I remember, Freddy v.s Jason was the 3rd best reviewed Friday the 13th film to date behind Part 6 and the original.

It does happen a lot...But at least I can give some reasons for why I hate what is loved and vice versa.

Thats all I'm hoping for. I think Bay does better work when he's working with more realistic characters.

I completely agree. Plus I feel like his style is more suited to this kind of picture. I am in no way a fan of his, generally speaking, but to me Bad Boys was always about pure action and things blowing up and general mayhem - which I will admit he is pretty darn good at :)

@bumpyboo: lol exactly. It's tailored for him. Plus Smith and Lawrence have a good chemistry that he played off of pretty well so far.

@surkit: So true! My favourite thing about the franchise is watching them play off of one another. Really hoping to see the pair of them on form for this :)

I could see this working out. Bad boys 2 made me lul. Especially the first ten minutes. I think they are probably in the top ten best buddy cop movies I've seen.

I really hope they get the film up and running because Martin Lawrence needs work and will Smith is starting to lose his charm especially if he is going to play mike Larry one more time

I'm probably gonna enjoy it same way I enjoy the expendables movies. I don't need to always see a plot driven movie all the time.
