angent coulson appeard to be dead but fury said coulson is down but not dead, I thought i saw him in the end of the move and he is signed on for a iron man 3 how does this work if he is dead, joss weadon is the produser and he does like to kill people off like in serenity! so do you think he is dead.

I am skeptical.

There is evidence when Tony Stark is down in that room by himself and Steve Rogers comes to visit him. How they zoom out from the floor up to Tony and then him and Steve start to have a conversation. What you gather from the little they exchange is that they had a little cermony, it was nice, people paid their dues, and then his casket was probably dropped out. I was skeptical of him dying to, but after slowly piecing this scene together and really asking "why would they be down there" I knew for sure he was dead.

Nick Fury did say he died. He said "The medic team just called it in." Calling it in means reporting a time of death.

The whole thing with the cards was suspicious but I think it was more of a play on Fury's character than Coulson living. He's not signed on for Iron Man 3, and anything can happen in comics. But his death was very important for the movie so I would be a bit disappointed if they brought him back.

I really don't believe he's dead, from how Maria Hill brought up the whole thing about his cards to Fury and him mentioning that they "needed the push" made me believe that he and Coulson faked the whole thing to give the Avengers something worth fighting for. But because of that, we most likely won't see him again in the movieverse.

To be fair, this is Fury's word we're going on here. He's not exactly known for being honest.
