Since the object will be moving across the sky so fast, only the most experienced amateur astronomers are likely to catch its close pass. But it could be a challenge.

So that means it wont hit the earth then

During the last meteor shower (Dec), I spotted like 12 meteors. Surely none of them were as big as a football field. I think it will be exciting to watch.

Maybe if were really lucky it enters Earth's gravity field at the right position and angle and becomes a second satellite.

@mrdecepticonleader: sometimes an asteroid can get stuck in a planet's gravitational field and become a new satellite or moon. Its what happened for planet marcs for phobos and deimos.
