You Off Topic folk are strangers to an RPG person such as myself, but hey, why not stretch my legs a bit. Ask me things..Stuff even, I might get to know some of you!
I have asked this question on a thread I made about hard choices, your turn to answer.
Let us say that you are married and have a child (First Born). Your child developed a sickness that can be cured by embryonic stem cell treatment (100% Sure), the catch is, it must be from an embryo that is conceives by you're wife (you if female).
For reference, once you harvest stem cells from an embryo, it will be destroyed.
At the time of harvesting, your spouse starts having second thought. Will you let your first born die an agonizing death or sacrifice your unborn child?
Direct and no-nonsense, good.
A little Sci-Fi scenario this time:
You are the Captain of a State of the Art Warship (Capable of navigating from air and space). Your Ship contained the latest technology and weaponry, including a Gravity Cannon and Distortion Shield.
You and your crew are task to evacuate a space colony being ravaged by the enemy (Your home). Despite the higher-ups protest to let you lead the mission because of personal circumstance, it is allowed.
Upon arriving, you saw the desolation around you, when you are to give up hope, a transmission was received, and guess what, your family, all of them safe among the couple of hundred survivors (523 to be exact). You then ordered evacuation at once (Your Ship is situated right below the survivors).
All seems to be fine and sunny until FATE starts to play a cruel joke. An enemy Warship suddenly warp right above you. Upon noticing your ship. They start charging their WAVE MOTION CANNON to annihilate your Warship. You have not even evacuated a single person, now this. The only hope for you and your crew's survival is deploying your ship's distortion shield, but doing so will bring instant DOOM to the survivors below including your love ones.
What will you do?
@overlordarhas: Order an unofficial preparation to have my crew evacuate the ship, then proceed to fly my ship upwards, right for the enemy ship. Evacuate myself, leaving it to the crew to get themselves out as per unofficial orders. Drop pod down below and allow the ship to crash into the enemy ship, it's unknown how many survived, if any survived on the federation ship.
