Why is the sun yellow, sky blue and nothing green in between?

@sesquipedalophobe: Sun is yellow because its visible radiation is most intense in the yellow-green portion of the spectrum and although its color is white, from the surface of the Earth it may appear yellow because of atmospheric scattering of blue light.

Sky is blue because of scattering (see above) due to molecule sized particles (as in air) is greater in the forward and backward directions than it is in the lateral direction. Scattering is significant for light at all visible wavelengths, but it is stronger at the shorter (bluer) end of visible spectrum, meaning that that the scattered light is more blue than its source, the sun. The remaining sunlight, having lost some of its short wavelength components, appears slightly less blue.

The lack of green you have to attribute (blame) to the vegans. They just want to eat all em green up.

@CaioTrubat: I'm a nomad. Right now, I'm vacationing here in the Philippines (where I was born and raised). But I resided in Singapore and Japan for a while before settling permanently in Australia.
