@samimista:

1: When I lived in Florida I had an apartment with no bed or anything really. I spent my birthday that first year alone in an empty house and it rained horribly outside.

2: Pup's especially American Pit Bull Terriers.

3: Yes I do. I learned it in Kindergarten

4: I am okay and Yourself?

5 I mentioned that above. Grendel

@king_saturn: That is a tough one. I really liked Wizards, but I'd have to give it to Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heavens Door.

Who's Music Do You Like More ? Bob Marley or Michael Jackson ?

#14 Posted by Nelomaxwell (10498 posts) - - Show Bio

@king_saturn: That is very tough. I'd have to say Mike only because he was around long enough to make songs on more topics.

@nelomaxwell:

How old are you? If you're in college, what do you study? If not, what do you plan on studying? I ask because based on other posts you seem to be a rather intelligent person so I'm curious where your interests lay.

@granitesoldier:

I' am 27 years old. I went to college at the City University of New York, I majored in English and graduated my with my Bachelor's.

You seem mighty intelligent too. I didn't mean to offend you with the last post. I realize now that it was a blanket.

#17 Posted by GraniteSoldier (7790 posts) - - Show Bio

@nelomaxwell:

You didn't, I am not so easy to offend. Thick skin comes with the job. Are you originally from NY? I'm from New Jersey, right across the water. Always a pleasure speaking to someone else from the area, we are definitely a different breed.

Yes Black people can like Philip K. Dick. (Just joking with you.)

Valis, with the Transmigration of Timothy Archer being second.

#24 Edited by BumpyBoo (9288 posts) - - Show Bio

@nelomaxwell: Hehe! I am always pleasantly surprised to meet another fan of his of any colour, I know there are lots of us out there but I don't come across them too often (that did make me laugh though!) :)

Nice choices by the way.

Would you describe yourself as an optimist, a pessimist, a realist, an idealist...or somewhere in between?

Moderator
#25 Posted by Nelomaxwell (10498 posts) - - Show Bio

@bumpyboo: Yes, I'm surprised based on how much movie material he gave Hollywood.

I'd say I'm a pessimistic -optimist, But I have a Idealist tendencies. I tend to have bleak view of the world, but I have hope for those that dream and those children who are allowed to keep dreaming. My writing reflects my belief that there are better worlds than this one and they either come after this one or can be created here by us individually. I know that wasn't a single answer so I'd like to say that I'm an idealist to give you a single answer.

#26 Posted by BumpyBoo (9288 posts) - - Show Bio

@nelomaxwell: That's a great answer, and one I can definitely relate to. Most people I know with pessimistic tendencies, myself included, would be more accurately described as frustrated idealists :)

If you don't mind me asking, what do you write?

@nelomaxwell: Well I'm following your blog now :) Really enjoying having a look around on there. Your front page article on black creators is a real eye opener, it is refreshing to see those kinds of issues addressed. You really don't see that often enough (apologies if that comes off as patronising, I mean it most sincerely) :)

1. Favorite films?

2. Favorite video games?

3. How can we make housing more affordable?

4. Which film did you like more: The Dark Knight or The Dark Knight Rises?

#33 Posted by Nelomaxwell (10498 posts) - - Show Bio

@edamame:

Films: House Party 1, Blade Runner, Cowboy Bebop:KOHD, Great Expectations and The Waking Life.

Video Games: Xenogears, Breath of Fire (3 and 4 mainly), Shadow Hearts (1 and 2), Suikoden (2), Lunar: SSS, Mass Effect (2) and the King of Fighters series.

How we can make housing affordable: Unfortunately we can't in a capitalist society. At least I don't think so.

I preferred DKR, I loved Dark Knight but I feel like Joker got turned into a typical action movie villain towards the end with all the blowing up.

@bumpyboo: No, it's quite alright. It was a call to arms. Most people don't know that there are black comic book writers doing good independent work, but there are a number of bad ones who could do better. I'm just trying to get them exposure with reviews, but they need to be good and tell real stories. I also want people to know who I am when my horror comic comes out. Sorry I'm ranting.

#34 Edited by BumpyBoo (9288 posts) - - Show Bio

@nelomaxwell: Hehe, no worries, ranting can be good when it comes to these subjects, it shows that you have fire, that you are passionate about it. And that drive, when you have the kind of big goals that you have, is a fantastic quality and a powerful asset. I really wish you well with it and as a horror fan, I'll be keeping an eye out for that comic of yours ;)

#37 Posted by Nelomaxwell (10498 posts) - - Show Bio

@doomdoomdoom: The first thing I would do is start on a path to make a corporations and banks accountable for wrong they've done. The first issue I'd address would be education and what could be done to better it.

@nelomaxwell: xD since I'm thinking about WWE I have some questions ffor you:

Whos is your favorite WWE superstar currently?

Who is your favorite WWE superstar of all time?

Who is your favorite Diva WWE star?

Smackdown or Raw?

Which do you prefer heel or face? =O

Daniel Bryant with CM Punk as a close second. (D-Bry is a bit more fun to watch because he's so high energy. )

Of all time is and will always be Bret Hart, I personally don't think anyone was more technically proficient or well versed in breaking people down.

My Favorite Diva is Naomi from the Funkadactyls cause she's so fine. But Wrestling wise it's Natalia Neidhart, I think she takes any Diva and even some dudes.

Raw all the way I don't bother with Smackdown unless I'm truly bored.

Face usually.

You're a NY man, so: Jets or Giants? Yankees or Mets? Knicks or Nets? Or am I way off on all accounts.

Online
#43 Posted by Nelomaxwell (10498 posts) - - Show Bio

@granitesoldier: I don't tend to watch sports. But If I had to choose

Football I'd go with Big Blue

The Mets are cool, I personally think the pay grade of the Yankee's is a reflection of a mentally poor society. Why should a person who keep us entertained be paid more than a Doctor or a Teacher? Then again keeping people docile is probably more lucrative than educating or saving them.

The Knicks disappointed me last year. I like what the Nets have got this year, I hope the two vet's Pierce and Garnette can add something to the team and with Kidd coaching maybe they'll get somewhere.

#44 Posted by GraniteSoldier (7790 posts) - - Show Bio

@nelomaxwell:

Big Blue, that's my man. Unfortunately, I am also a Yankees fan.

But I agree, no "entertainer" should be paid more than a doctor, teacher, or anyone who actually contributes to the improvement of the future.

And I'm not a Basketball fan, but I figured I'd cover the sports across the board.
