I was going to wait to post this until after the episode aired, but I couldn't wait.
So, discuss!

Especially because the News on Arrow just name-dropped Central City, bahahahah.
So, discuss!
@deranged_midget: Be sure you do, it was really good!
@nighthawk89: Same! I thought it covered all the bases and hit home very well. Flashbacks, current story, etc!
Loved that they aren't waiting to introduce more characters either, with the Black Canary cameo at the end too!
@fallschirmjager: Can't wait to check it out! I LOVED the first season, personally my favourite show on tv right now alongside Supernatural! :D
WHAT ITS ALREADY BACK!?! I cant believe i missed it! That's honestly my second fav show next to teen titans. Did anything more happen with Malcolm cause i thought the dark archer representation was awesome and i didn't know if they were gonna lead it back to Ras al Ghul cause when tommy asked where he learned those moves Malcolm said from a very powerful man. And I'm the comics hes part of the league of assassins so it makes sense.
@lilben42: I think they got a bigger budget too, because the stunts and action looked great. As did the CGI.

It premeired tonight. Every Wednesday at 8pm EST.
Malcolm is only briefly mentioned, but they didn't say if he was alive or dead. Tommy is confirmed to be dead.
@deathstroke19: Well. You know how comics go. No one is ever really dead. lol
@fallschirmjager: Lol... Seriously though he better not be cause he was awesome.
@lilben42: @deranged_midget: @fallschirmjager: well seeing as how this is an arrow discussion what did you guys think of Malcolm?
@deathstroke19: Agreed. Although I'm pretty excited to see Bronze Tiger this year too.
Pretty good. I caught the first season on a Xbox app but I'll be tuning in regularly for this season.
I barely realized that Bethany Snow reports the news on Channel 52 like in the comics. ha. Good episode.
@deathstroke19: On the topic of Malcom, I do have my hopes high that connections between him and the League of Assassins will somehow be made. He was a great villain in the first season.
Oliver's new upgraded bow is my favorite part: The scene when he ascended into the air using the arrow-line as a grapple. Pretty soon we'll be seeing various trick arrows :)
@pokergeist: He has used a couple of them. I know he has his recording device arrows, hacking arrows, grappling arrows and regular arrows.
I'm not sure if he's used explosive arrows or flash bang arrows yet though.
and as much fun as it is...we will never see a punching glove arrow lol.
@fallschirmjager: Right, that's what I meant. Also since he is starting a kind of "no-kill" policy, trick arrows fit his new character nicely. Stuff like flashbang arrows, smoke arrows, freeze arrows, electric arrows, etc. (It'd be amazing if he'd use a punching glove arrow just once)
If you guys want to listen to a pretty good video blog about the episode, check this out.
John Campea from AMC Movie talk (its an amazing channel if you don't know it).

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure he's used an explosive arrow and he's used flashbang arrows on a few occassions. Flashbang arrow was used when he assaulted Cyrus Vanch's compound to take out the two snipers.
Explosive arrow(or something similar to it) was used when he attacked the underground casino that Felicity was sent to undercover(her plan) and she was being held hostage by the owner. Oliver shot an arrow by his head, the guy claiming that he heard Ollie never missed and Ollie responded with "I don't...". It's shown that he hit a bullseye in a dartboard beyond the owner and Felicity, an minor explosion goes off, knocking them both down.
@deranged_midget: Hmm. You may be right. But I can't say I remember well enough to confirm/deny
Loved the first season. I hope we get to see Superman or hear of him sometime in the future but I digress. Im really exited to see Speedy become more active and Im interested on how he is going to enter the Arrow Club.
@fallschirmjager: He used a Flashbang Arrow against Malcolm during their last battle.

Episode 21(The Undertaking) for explosive arrow. Episode 13(Betrayal) for flashbang.
@deranged_midget: @guardiandevil83: Sweet.
This show can be kind of corny sometimes, but its good none the less. Enough to keep my interest.
I like episodes like the season 2 premiere, it focuses more on stuff comic fans want to see: action and story. I imagine because its on the CW it is forced to have all that pretty, white people romance, drama nonsense going on.
I loved season one and season two is off to a great start. I was glad to see how all of the characters have grown and further develop after everything that happened last season. Seeing Ollie's character change from a vigilante on his own personal crusade and becoming a hero his city can rally behind is a great progression for the character. I also loved his reason for why "finding another way" when it comes to killing, and his reason for not killing anymore really shows how much of an impact last season had on him and how much he has changed. This season is looking to be great! ^_^
That was a fantastic start to the season! Loved the reintroduction of a family friend, Ollie's confliction with re-donning the hood and the oh so brilliant tease at the end! NEXT WEDNESDAY MUST COME FASTER!
@guardiandevil83: @war_killer: @deranged_midget: does anyone know a website that you don't have to download or pay where I can watch it? (I don't have Netflix so i cant do that).
@deranged_midget: Right! It was a fantastic premiere! Did you catch the Central City / Flash easter egg too?:)

For sure dude. The CW's target audience is pretty much teens-young adults...so there is inevitably going to be some drama/romance going on lol.
Is Laurel gonna turn into Black Canary or what? (also who was that mysterious savior in the Roy Harper scene?)
I'm going to answer you in spoilers. Decide if you want to know or not.
The savior at the end of the scene with Roy was Black Canary. Earlier this summer the writers on the show confirmed that Laurel's dead sister Sarah, is not dead and will be Black Canary.
@fallschirmjager: WHAT!? No! I must've missed it! :(
@fallschirmjager: I guess I don't want to know. But how do you? Have you seen the entire Season 2?

It kinda makes me mad cause that is a big change, i mean it was so big i had to use bold to get my point across.
@pr0metheus: Yeah. But we'll see how it plays out.
@fallschirmjager: WHAT!? No! I must've missed it! :(
Near the beginning of the episode when Ollie meets Thea in Verdant Club, the news is on in the background talking about Central City =)

The writers said so during the summer.

I have no idea what you're referring to in regards to Pokergeist but I don't think writers would give away plot points away just like that :P
@deranged_midget: ...I can't link you the article I'm referring to without giving away spoilers...so let's just drop the topic lol.
@fallschirmjager: It's all good!
In regards to the next episode and this episode's cliffhanger:
You think that Ollie will start calling himself Green Arrow and perhaps he'll change up/upgrade his costume?
@deranged_midget: My thoughts
I don't know if he'll actually call HIMSELF Green Arrow...he'll probably have Felicity go crazy on the internet and get the media to start calling him that. I think they have to be careful with name dropping a little bit. I don't need to hear Green Arrow every episode, I think it would get weird. I mean look at modern movies...Heroes rarely get called by their hero name more than one or two times because its just unnecessarily
Costume maybe. I think he should. Personally, I'd let to see him wear some kind of mask instead of just dark-green paint on his eyes. I know they probably don't want to copy Smallville who used super-techno shades...but it really is a cool gadget. Night vision, heat vision, etc.
And even if the uniform's appearance doesn't change, I think it would be cool if the suit got an upgrade. Perhaps better armoring, or whatever.
@fallschirmjager: Agreed:
I think the suit is functional as it is but he really needs to cover up his face more because it restricts his encounters with any other heroes or possible allies down the line if he decides to "hero" up. A smaller face mask, possibly similar to Nightwing where the lenses can utilize heat vision, night vision, etc would work. I think Ollie sported a more simplistic look because he never expected to make friends as "The Hood" nor did he make a point to stick around (hehe).
His overall suit is fine I think. Allows him to utilize his agility, speed and free-running more than an armoured look would.
@deranged_midget: Good points.
Maybe, because he doesn't want to be called The Hood anymore, he will pull the hood down and sport on a small face mask. :o
I don't know, I know I'm in love with Emily Bett Richards. I'm going to go on the X factor, become famous and marry her.
@rogueshadow: For some reason the nerdy glasses make her 2x hotter.
