In my opinion...

They are not bad, but the show is much better.

I have no idea about the translation.

the books are a good read, but the show is better, it's one of the rare, rare occasions where the books are worse than then television/film adaptation

Yeah, I've gotta agree here. I read the first book last year and was shocked by the lack of character development in the supporting cast. Checkout Dean Koontz Frankenstein series or Neil Gaiman's American Gods instead. Those are two I've recently read that really stuck with me.

I love the books! I think they're better than the show.

So far, my favorite is Dearly Devoted Dexter.

The books are not "worse" than the show, that implies that they are somehow poorly written. The show is superior, yes, but the novels are quite good.

doesn't, by definition, being "superior' to something makes the other thing ''worse" than it? i didn't say the books were bad, just the show is better

Not by any means.

Think of it this way: The books are on one level, the show is on another. Both are good.

The word "worse" has an entirely different connotation.

@Illuminatus: well maybe to you,  but to me, if one thing is superior to another, the inferior one is of worse quality`

Once Lindsay went supernatural, I had a hard time respecting his work..

@Illuminatus: true, that's another reason why i liked the show better, the "Dark Passenger" is less supernatural and more cerebral
