Please know the difference between smarter and more intelligent

Humans are obviously smarter. We have science, mathematics, literature, politics, economics, laws and many more

But when we come to not rely on the above, how would we respond to an emergency or find food, water, supplements or keep ourselves safe?

But are we more intelligence or less than the life forms that still possess the traits we once left behind thousands of years ago?

Would the average human be more or less intelligence than an animal?

Think of the average human. One that isn't a scientist or a survivalist expert, one that hasn't trained for such events e.g. plumber, supermodel, businessman etc

This is just a false definition of intelligence.

Survival isn't about figuring out how to do it, but actually doing it.

Agreed, survival instincts and abilities are nothing near intelligence.

Like the old wives tale about city kids thinking eggs and meat come from factories because they've never been exposed to a farm. That doesn't mean they're not intelligent, just that their exposure to the world isn't appropriate for that situation.

That being said, I've seen some doozys where people have been thrown into a survival situation and had no common sense...

Intelligent and smart are synonyms, so how can there be a difference?

Humans are smarter and more intelligent, or whatever else you want to call it. That is the reason that despite our physical weakness we are at the top of the food chain

Hello.

I think possibly you mean smartness and intelligence? Smarter is a relative term whereas smartness speaks of the quality of being smart. There are differences and similarities between smartness and intelligence, one similarity is that both as words have different applications, both ideas have overlap and broadness, you can't really ask people to know the difference without establishing more context as far as what you mean to discern. A definition of intelligence, the one you seem to be applying as far as I can tell by assuming, is acquisition and application of practical skills in order to assist survival, and thats an interesting topic, but you should be aware that intelligence has many more applications and definitions.

So assuming my assumption is correct, well thats true, many people around the world have come to rely on technology a great deal to such an extent that removing a lot of that technology would have people struggle to get by, but thats not strictly a bad or good thing and many animals put into different environments than the ones they are use to and or adapted for struggle to adapt, its over simplistic thinking to believe that modern humans are lacking for not having the skill set of humans tens of thousands of years ago, possibly over romanticizing the past when things were simpler? There is a quote occasionally attributed to Albert Einstein, "Never memorize something that you can look up" the wisdom in that being could be said to prioritize information, and learn what you have to for your situation to better and improve it, don't clutter it with redundant information you can have readily accessible externally anyway.

I mean sure… we could get all the top medical professionals, and various scientists to stop working on technology, saving lives and get them to learn how to hunt wild animals with just wood and stone just so they can, and we can get everyone to stop what they do and do the same, and have the pace of the world dramatically slow down and then have people have skills they won't really have a need to use instead of spending that time more productively. I mean of course its a great idea for all people to have enough skills to keep themselves and those they care for safe and well in emergency situations but trying to have the skills of past generations would be a bad idea when modern reality isn't the same as in the past.

Lastly as others have put, humans are animals. Interesting idea for thread though.

Intelligence is complicated, complex, and not well defined phenomena, and there are plenty of areas of intelligence where some animals vastly surpass us.

But no animal (as far as we know) have the ability to think abstract thoughts, create abstract constructs and imagine hypothetical situation, as well as humans.

Also worth mentioning is humanity's versatile adaptability. We have spread across and conquered five different continents with various terrain and climate. No other animal have displayed such a sophisticated toolmaking capability as well.

well that depends on the individual questioned.

people here are thinking too much of the perfect human being...not the average one.

the difference between some of the most and least intelligent people in the world is enormous...if spoilt brats were the average then compared to other species, human would be less intelligent

I believe this video may give you answers

Animals don't kill each other over beliefs that they can't prove, animals aren't actively destroying the very place they need to survive & animals only take what they need. They're more intelligent where it really matters.
