Otherwise, Germany. Those dudes are beast. They never have standouts like Brazil, Spain or Argentina but they are such a solid unit. Precision and technique.

@extremis: USA are going, they are in a group with Portugal, Ghana & Germany [I only know because I'm following Ghana]. I don't think they'll get through to be honest, Portugal and Germany will probably get through.

USA works well as an underdog. Plus, we always have top athletes. I remember this being considered one of, if the the toughest group. Our boys can do it, though.

But, in the likely case that they don't make it, I'll gladly zupport zuh germanz.

Football/soccer games are way fixed these days, and if that's not enough all that child murdering to clean the streets really made me lose interest.

Im not a huge sports fan but I do watch the World Cup when Mexico plays.

Rooting for the Netherlands. Even though I'm from England, have a feeling they'll lose on penalties again.

Argentina or Spain have the best chances of winning.

I think we'll be lucky to get through the first rounds considering we've got Italy & Uruguay in there, should beat Costa Rica though. I'm looking forward to seeing the new team on Friday as well.

World Cup is one of my favorite sporting events. Four years is about how long it takes for me to build up the excitement to watch that much soccer and I can't wait for the first kickoff.

I want to see Friday's match to see how we perform before I give any concrete thoughts though.

Ireland had the misfortune of being in the same group as Germany, so my hometeam ain't going anywhere.

I'm Brazilian and i hope Brazil looses. We have a terrible presidente and if Brazil wins she will most likely be reelected.

With that in mind I hope Mexico wins, but that's not going to happen :(

Problem is that us Americans don't have Football vision. This is what the rest of the world sees when they watch the game. We just see a bunch of guys kicking a ball around.

When we see your Football its all guys hugging each other innapropiately before the take down, not to mention anyone can get away with anything in the mist.

I'm not a big football fan however the world cup usually gets my interest; I'm more interested in the atmosphere it creates than the actual game itself though.

I will watch it. I hope the USA does well.Unfortunately, they are in probably the most difficult group.
