I hope i am not the only one
Anybody else unhappy about Comic vine's resent update
the last one was screwed up so i deleted it and i havnt seen any others.@ellie_knightfall:
@ellie_knightfall: It's kind of difficult to keep up with threads with this layout.
(High-fives ragman)
I want to be able to post gifs again.
@darkknightdetective: OMG me 2. i never got tired of some of them. (high five back) It's a major pain trying to find all my old followers and fallow them and even find my old RPGs
@ragman1138: I was fighting Judge, and I wanted to post this gif and it wouldn't let me. I was so pissed off.

@darkknightdetective: i was fighting eddy winzer but this "update" -cough- bombardment -cough- screwed my whole battle. dude CV REALLY dropped teh ball on this one
@ragman1138: Lucky for me, I was able to continue the battle perfectly.

this.....so much this.....
also my followers were lost but whatever
@darkknightdetective: -flips middle finger- lucky
@theamazingimmortalman: i use to go there all the time to. i say they really dropped the ball on this new update
For me I don't have any major problem with the site interface itself, just the fact that you can't post gifs, and some of the data is really out of wack. It should be fixed tomorrow though, so no worries.
Oh, and this belongs in Off-Topic.
i seriously dont even feel like being on this site anymore, after the wiki (that does not get updated nearly enough) the forums were my main focus, but without the recent post feature its a boring ass crawl through the forum menus trying to find something that peaks my interest.
And the character boards are gonna be a nightmare to find something noteworthy now, it used to be hope on front page, oh invisible woman/spider-man/thor topic click, now its gonna be an excersize and theres no way in hell im checking each characters individual page for somethin new to talk about.
@yourneighborhoodcomicgeek: I'm not really worried about the data and bugs I figure they will sort it all out eventually, but the comfort of the old lay out was so much more comfortable for me....I probably will get used to this eventually but at the moment it is one of my first world problems....
@ragman1138: yea that section was so convenient
Not to mention no gifs. -Insert Gif here-
word! -insert gif that replies to your gif-
I have one question, are user reviews gone or is it temporary. What I mean is when we go to reviews we only get staff reviews, with no option to go see user submitted reviews like with the previous display. Or is it gonna be a thing where we have to seek out reviews on specific issues, because let me tell you that may work for Giant Bomb and video games because there is generally one big title everyone is looking forward to but with comics there is so much stuff coming out each week that it is easy to forget some titles.
Another thing i hate is now instead of saying teh last guy to post in a topic at teh top you have to go all the way to the end. its a pain in the RPGs and other rpg threads
@yourneighborhoodcomicgeek: right, my bad. rpg is my thing lol
The new CV seems to look cleaner and a lot better with the black layout (If I am using the terms properly)
Oh --- plus the whole "mention" thing is a but confusing when it's really a "reply" but the whole "Thank you, Comic Vine" when it comes to notifications isn't new but it's off putting because it's so close to the text of the actual PM and the font style isn't different enough. Little, itty bitty things that I agree, we won't even notice in a month's time.
I am enjoying reading people's reactions though. :P
The site is so annoying on a tablet. I'm not liking it at all.... Maybe when all the bugs are worked out, i think they could've waited with the update so everything works properly. It's like a rushed videogame with annoying glitches...
Their "resent" update, eh? Freudian slip or typo?
Seriously though, yeah...I know everyone's bound to make hyperbolic statements because change is uncomfortable, but this site is darn near unusable. I lost ALL my followers and have gained about 1/4 of them back. PM's are borked, it's even more convoluted to try to get to the most recent post in a thread or PM than it used to be as there's no longer a page nav at the top, and every single thing I used to use to get around the site -- the online followers activity button, the recent forum posts page, etc. -- is gone.
So I'm not exaggerating. Every feature of the site that I relied upon has either been distorted, made more complicated, or removed.

Agreed. And I'm bumming about something. Those who were trying to act consider and deleted the unimportant posts lost the number(mine drastically). Poor me now instead of my great big number I'm over a puny thousand. But hey that's life. I'll get used to it.

It is hard to read threads. The old site didn't have anything wrong with it. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

They had no choice. Whisky Media owned the old layout so they had to changed. I hope they figure something out because it's feeling cold and impersonal right now. Not the draw that people kept coming back for. It wasn't the news but the community and the new layout kinda gets in the way of that.
I hate it. The look is kind of cool, but it's a huge project to do anything other than search the wiki now. I can't even browse through my PM Box right since now they're all in a completely randomized order.
Seriously, why would a PM that's been inactive for months be above one that JUST replied?!?
I found a plus, i can now upload pictures from my tablet to the site. See? I'm not all negative :p
That is pretty neat :O
Adding stuff to lists is definitely more convenient now -- you can search by issue. So that's a plus.
But I don't know how I'm going to "get over" the removal of that flag at the top. I relied on it to know who was online, who I stood a chance of carrying an immediate conversation with because they were online. I relied on it to view the conversations my friends were part of (more than half of which are still missing from my followers list).
And while no longer needing to approve wall posts is nifty, the paltry 200 character limit dramatically undermines the ability and desire to have conversations on walls -- forcing you to use PM's, which of course are messed up and require you to go to "unread" in order to find new messages in ongoing conversations.
The interface (and particularly the PM system) was Comicvine's biggest draw, now it's got... um... er...
