Trying to look for some new sci-fi movies.. Kinda on a craze here!
Please help me out.
@sean12345: Name a few that you like and I'll suggest a few more.
12 Monkeys, Snowpiercer, Dark City, Battle Royale, Children of Men, A Clockwork Orange and Brazil are some I can think of.
@darthmanhunter: Snowpiercer, Event Horizon, Perfect Sense, Oblivion, Minority Report

Oh my gosh YES! Watch these ones :)
And also Blade Runner....
It sounds like you might like the following:
@sean12345: Sunshine and Europa Report
Inception, Children of Men, 12 Monkeys, The Day The Earth Stood Still (original is better than the remake), Close Encounters of The Third Kind. The Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Star Wars, Star Trek, Terminator, Total Recall, 2001 Space Odyssey, Soylent Green, Fantastic Voyage, The Thing(1950's), 28 Days Later, and Blade Runner, is a start
The Thing 1950's
You would favour that over John Carpenters incredibly well directed 1980's version that stars Kurt Russell and Keith David.
@dextersinister: im also confused of why someone would hate it i want an explanation
@dextersinister: Well it is the original, Carpenters was very well done and I would recommend that too. But I always try to recommend the original first.
I highly recommend Star Wars, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, the Alien and Predator franchises, Star Trek, the old Planet of the Apes, Wall-E, the Jurassic Park franchise and the Terminator franchise.
The Fifth Element and The Matrix are the only ones I can think of that haven't already been said. Also it's cool to see you like Oblivion, not enough people have seen it
@gamiz7: There is no hate against Carpenters version of it at all, its in my collection. Just like to recommend originals first-then remakes. I mean look at Red Dawn, the original is twice the movie as the remake. But that's my opinion. Someone else could very well like the One with Chris Hemsworth.
@12_percent_of_a_plan: Wall-E!! Haha great flick.
@darthmanhunter: carpenters isnt really a remake as it follows the book alot more than the 50s version,
@gamiz7: It's a remake by definition, same general plot, based on same novel. I know what your saying though as thats been done a few times with other movies as well.
The Outpost, Moon, 2046, Forbidden Planet. If you like Nazi Zombies check out The Outpost. Its pretty awesome.
Looks like lots of good ones have already been listed. I don't think anyone's mentioned these yet:
Coherence
John Dies at the End
The Outpost (2007)
Dog Soldiers
Big Ass Spider!
Blood Glacier
Some of these are streaming on Netflix right now
