This isn't surprising she was a drug addict. Shame though cause she had a good voice..

R.I.P. It's always a shame when someone can't overcome their demons with drugs.

#24 Posted by Bestostero (5618 posts) - - Show Bio

It really it is a shame, but it's not surprising...she had unhealthy habits and she didn't want help.

Hugs not drugs as someone once said on the GB Amy Winehouse is dead thread.

She was supposed to go to rehab, but she said "No,no,no" *too soon???*
Jimi Hendricks, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, and now...
they're saying Amy Winehouse is part of the Club....

Amy was good, but to put her up there with those guys is bit far.

I love her music, but she is in no way close to those guys league.

When I first heard that song and didn't see her, I thought she was a black woman from the islands. I was upset when I learned otherwise.

Sad but not surprising

#42 Edited by Joesoef95 (315 posts) - - Show Bio

I never really followed her but I like Rehab and Valerie. She had a great and voice and will be surely missed.

I have a feeling that in the future, her popularity will rise significantly or she'll be an icon or something. She's the most famous member of the Club 27 of this generation and dieing young almost always boost an artist's popularity like Cobain and Morrison (I'm not saying she's on par with them but still)

RIP

I think everyone saw this coming, but it's still sad to see anyone come to such an end. She had a lot of talent and enjoyed a lot of professional success, but it obviously wasn't enough to overcome her personal demons. It's unfortunate that she will likely be remembered less for her music and more as a cautionary tale.
