Airport Security
I've never been to an Airport much less on a plane but I know it was quite ridiculous in 2002 when my sister and mother took a flight to ohio. I mean I can understand the seriousness of it all. But really I dont think a braclet will do much. Sure it gives an electric shock. But what happens to those people with pace makers and such who wear them. If the airport sees them as a risk they tase them and teh people die from ventricular fibrilation. Or those people who walk around with unknown heart problems. I mean come on lets be real, if we want to be known as the country who kills innocent passengers because they "seem" like a "problem" then go right on ahead.

"Ha Ha Ha ! I See a lot of folks have plans to leave the Country nowI just want to get zapped on the plane

that's terrible...it seems like it's gotten so much worse for some reason....i flew cross country in october of 2001 so it was right after 9/11 and really i didn't notice any suped up security or anything it was just like before 9/11....it seems like it's taking them forever to do nothing about it...but now with this news i think i'll take the bus
I went to Ireland in Aug of 01 and security was fine. Metal detectors, take your things out of your pockets, seemed reasonable to me. In 04 I went to Toronto and I had to take off my belt, my shoes, throw away my lighter/matches and they gave me guff about my prescription medication. Because everyone is trying to get high off of anti-seizure medicine.
How am I supposed to smoke after getting off the plane? (Rhetorical question. Please don't answer with, flint and sticks)

i cant count the number of times ive flown through the states in the past 2 years and the more times i fly through the less and less i like it...now im not trying to sound like an @ss but im in the military and being stationed in japan i have to fly throught the states at least once when we deploy...you would think that they would be a little more considerate towards everyone leaving the country to go the middle east, but for some reason its harder for us to get through airports than it is for the civillians sometimes ...actually had an "airport security agent" freak out when they were searching my buddies weapon case...yellin at him to step back and stop being aggressive..."ok buddie its not loaded and we are over here on the other side of the glass"...we were all shocked..i dont understand why they hassle old women, families, and military so much...is it cause they are afraid of being sued by an arab for "racial profiling"?...screw that..dont get me wrong im in no way racist, but statistically it is only a handfull of a certian type of people who comit acts of terrorism...i just wish the US would stop being so scared of hurting peoples feelings...germany is looking really good about now....
I see where they're coming from with all the precautionary measures and everything, because I believe you absolutely cannot be too careful trying to prepare for terrorists. However, yes it is an absolute pain in the neck to take everything off while they search through all your stuff, occasionally making you yourself feel like you're being interrogated as a terrorist suspect, but if they didn't do that, then 9-11 may have only been the first one, not necessarily the last one. Does that make sense?
Yeah hun it makes perfect sense. But 9/11 would have never happened if some guy in the white house would have listened to the warning signs.
"Yeah hun it makes perfect sense. But 9/11 would have never happened if some guy in the white house would have listened to the warning signs."As much as I agree with you, Al-Queda threatened America on a weekly basis for years. They cried wolf so much, we stopped listening.
And I do know this, But we should have still had taken them serious. What happens at the end of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"? There really was a wolf at the end. And the same thing happened with us. We may not have been able to stop the attacks but we could have made it more difficult for them.

But, that's just how I see things developing.
"wait.....it shocks people who like.......get ressless??? is it like a sensor that acts on your blood pressure...............Thats the Problem... I mean there could be many issues for a person to act a little off base... and basically the braclet can send a shock to you like a tazer gun if you do get out of hand... so its really creepy
what if someone is like..........scared of hights or something"

"As you all know Airport Security has really become quite extensive since the acts of terrorism done against the US on Sept 11. But lately the concept of Airport Security is planning on getting even more complex than what they have now... there is a proposal for Airports in the US to have the people who fly on Airplanes to wear a braclet that would keep track of the people who are boarding the Aircrafts... the braclet is even suppose to send an electric shock simular to a tazer gun attack to a person who they feel is getting out of control. So my question to you is how do you feel about the current state of Airport Security ? What do you think about these new Airport accomodations ?
"
I agree 100%." I see where they're coming from with all the precautionary measures and everything, because I believe you absolutely cannot be too careful trying to prepare for terrorists. However, yes it is an absolute pain in the neck to take everything off while they search through all your stuff, occasionally making you yourself feel like you're being interrogated as a terrorist suspect, but if they didn't do that, then 9-11 may have only been the first one, not necessarily the last one. Thank those terrorists next time you go to an airport and have all this done to you.
A little overprotective? Yes. But if not, and another terrorist attack happens everyone will gang up and point fingers at the airport security for not having enough precautions.
I heard that a guy was caught stabbing the cat to one of the scan pictures and was fired...
On a lighter note
But other than that, it's fine lol
bad thing is that everything's quite expensive :T
" As long as they aren't going all over my privates like a physical or penetrating the holy land of my rear I'm cool with it. "Lol...I was scared it was going that direction when I flew back home from Miami about two weeks ago.
From what the only talkative agent there told me, anyone who wears layers of clothing (in my case basketball shorts under my jeans) is pretty much sure to get one of the rubdowns... Also any one who is extraordinarily hairy, as the scanner has problems with that... O_o
The examiner guy used the back of his hand, but he did have to frame/trace along my entire private area, as well as up and around my backside... It was kind of frustrating that I had to get the business twice on one trip (profiling anyone?), but I would be more upset if they said that they had to do the same thing to my daughter/wife/mother/sister...
