What are your thoughts on the ads? I honestly don't mind them, I would rather have to look at ads then to start paying a subscription fee. I just hate the ones at the side because they compress the layout.
Like Dark Huntress said I'd rather have ads than a subscription fee. As long as they don't ever become the annoying ones with the pop up windows its cool with me.
@The Dark Huntress: Well, yeah, maybe if they were advertising something I was actually interested in, I wouldn't mind it, but that never happens. Ads are always about something completely inane that no one cares about, and popups piss me off. I do agree with you though that I do prefer ads than having to pay a subscription fee.

oh yeah, you used to have ebay ads on every comic, linking you to items that weren't the one who's page you were on and Dr. Manhattan/Watchmen ads that bore his nakedness to the world but I wasn't too bothered about it, ads are fine, every other site uses them, it's part of the Internet "
Ughh. It's one thing if it's leading you to the actual item that you're looking at, like if they linked the issues to that item on Amazon like they do with the movies on Screened, I kind of like that idea. My only issue is that they sometimes compress the layout of the forums, but I don't mind the ones at the top. Also, like I said in my OP, it's better than having to pay a subscription fee.
Comicvine getting ads is what caused me to install adblock on Firefox... But I don't have any such thing installed on Flock, a browser I also use regularly, and I've never seen an ad on CV in this browser either.
If you install adblock, that should take care of them. It only bothers me when I"m on my alts, don't have to deal with them on my main because I'm a paying member.

In all honesty, I'm too cheap to actually pay to post here.
I'm noticing lately a subconscious tick telling me I require Axe Body Spray products ringing in my head. Otherwise I like clicking on the " X " and closing the box. It makes me feel important. ^_^
O_O The ads haven't bothered me because they aren't really in my face they are tucked to the sides, as long as they don't start engulfing every page in an obnoxious way I'm good
