crisp lemon lime and mountain dew. i can go through a 12 pack a day like nothing .... good or bad?
addicted to soda
Soda is going to kill me one day! I need to stop starting now! *takes sip* .......f*ck my life! *starts sobbing*
Very Bad
I usually drink only water for 3 weeks straight then drink 2-4 cans of soda a day for 3-4 days then go back to water for 3 weeks straight. The only reason I even drink soda is because after awhile water starts to lose that good taste to me so I need a change.
That's terrible man. I think you should start to gradually ease yourself off that stuff. Try to get yourself down to a can a day, then a can every other day and then just a few a week. It will be good for you in the long run.
@kuroimugetsu: Bad.
Over-consumption of high fructose corn syrup isn't good for anyone.
- Possible mercury exposure
- Higher risk of hypertension and elevated bad cholesterol levels
- Increased risk of liver damage
- Higher risk of obesity (since HFCS metabolizes into fat, and goes directly to your stomach).
You also run the risk of eroding your tooth enamel as well, since soda is acidic. If it's Coke you like to drink, the caramel color in the drink is made with ammonia. You're basically drinking a cleaning solution.
If you like soda that much, try to get down to drinking one a week. At the rate you're going, you may experience health problems as you get older.
@static_shock: dam that's alot of facts. I couldn't stop it if I tried though what do I do
Switch to something like orange & mango juice. Stuff is just as flavoursome. The majority of it is water. Plus its fruit juice. That's like finding a girl who is attractive and has a nice personality.
@static_shock: dam that's alot of facts. I couldn't stop it if I tried though what do I do
That's a hell of a lot of fizzy juice, go cold turkey with fizzy juice, if you try to drink one you will just down the pack.
Your body will feel funny without all that sugar so drink a lot of fruit juice instead to ease yourself down.
@dextersinister: I'll try thanks
@static_shock: dam that's alot of facts. I couldn't stop it if I tried though what do I do
You can definitely stop. If I can, you can. Drink alternatives, like apple juice, grape juice, orange juice, lemonade, etc. Check the nutrition facts label first, though. A lot of these drinks aren't naturally made, and also contain HFCS, as well. Stay away from Minute Maid for this reason (Coco-Cola manufactures it, too). Try drinking Calypso Lemonade. There's an assortment of flavors, and they come in glass bottles. Prices ranged from $1.69-$1.89 per bottle. It's naturally made, and has pure cane sugar in it, which is a naturally sweetener. You also need to drink more water, too. It might be hard to do, but do it because your body needs it, not because you like it.
Don't listen to these people. They don't understand that soda is all you'll ever have, and that it loves you.
Soda is awful for you.
I don't know how anyone can there and chug soda, and chips all day.
It's addictive, even if you don't think about a sugar shot your body will remind you.
I used to be addicted to energy drinks and it gave me permanent heart issues, not to mention the dental issues sugar can bring. I'd definetely lay off.
Step by step is just going to make you suffer longer, best way to do it is to just force yourself not to touch the stuff for a few months until the addiction wears off, then gradually allow yourself the occasional reward or not. You are either strong enough to do it or not, if you aren't you probably just lack willpower because you haven't experienced the downsides yet, and believe me you don't want to get to the point where you do. Either way, in my case after I hadn't touched it for a while I didn't even really want too.
I feel you. Soda is all I drink. It's Diet though, so there's that.
Diet is even worse because of aspartame.
@static_shock: dam that's alot of facts. I couldn't stop it if I tried though what do I do
get addicted to something else.
@static_shock: If all that Aspartine stuff were true I'd be dead by now.
@firestormfate1919: Health problems take time to develop. Better safe than sorry.
I get really bad headaches if I go without caffeine.
You should get that checked out lmao.
@firestormfate1919: Even worse
Try quitting. Drink more water. After I refrained from drinking soda for a whole year, when I finally tasted it again, it tasted very acidic and unnatural.
crisp lemon lime and mountain dew. i can go through a 12 pack a day like nothing .... good or bad?
Very bad. Diabetes and a very possible gallbladder removal are in your future... among many other complications. And for the love of god, don't switch to diet. It's actually worse.
@kuroimugetsu: Try to drink a flavored perrier mineral water, it could help you transition away from soda.
@albusan: true ... is there anything with that extra kick that soda gives u available?
@makhai: gallbladder removal sounds painful
@makhai: gallbladder removal sounds painful
It's not so bad. What is painful is what leads up to justifying its removal. You'll feel like someone is stabbing you in the gut every once in a while with a long blade. As time goes on, the lancing pains will become more severe and more frequent.
Afterward, you will have a hard time breaking down fats. So if you are not already overweight, you will start to struggle with weight later and if you are currently overweight, you will be struggling with obesity.
