Because he is wearing a cape and capes are the pimpist thing.

I think that's a pretty awesome dad.

Now the real question becomes.

What about the fathers wearing villain capes?

Too awesome.

I think it's sweet. :)

I posted this one the other day, but it's relevant here too. :)

This reminds me of the dad and daughter cosplayers from last year:

I doubt the picture above is cosplaying.

It looks simply as the father wanted to make his boy happy rather than to pretend to be some other character because you are a fan of one.

As the father of 4 (who are all grown up now) I have done some things in my life that I didn't care to do. Played games i didn't like. watched TV shows I didn't like, went places i didn't care to, went to a Father-Daughter dance and danced to Achy-Breaky heart (oh the horror). I have not ever at any time ever worn any semblence of a superhero costume to make them happy. But if they had asked I would no doubt have done it.

I think that you can't tell if someone is or isn't a good father by the picture.

Great image.  This dad has his good points, his admirable traits, and his limitations and failings, just like any of us.  But, in this instance, he is being a good dad.

I really don't think you can tell someone's fathering skills by a picture, but who the heck wears a cape!?!
