80s music vs 90s music

hahahaha. 
 
90's......90's and 90's, aka the last decade before mainstream rock became a suckfest, my favorite band in the world came out in the 90's Alice in chains. 
 
Also 
- Stone Temple Pilots 
- Paw 
- Nirvana 
- Soundgarden 
 - Killswitch Engage
 - The Warlocks 
 - Gruntruck  
 - Hammerbox
Along with all the other Hard rock/Grunge badasses came out in the 90's 

But then AGAIN 
 
- Bathory 
- Deftones 
- Jane's Addiction 
- Anthrax 
- Slayer 
 
Came out in the 80's but its a tough decision but in the end i'm going to have to give it to the 90's simply because ALICE IN MOTHER ******* CHAINS.

Late 80's through all of the 90's

AC/DC and Iron Maiden were good in the 80s. That's about all I listen to from that area.
 
MEANWHILE 90s had a ton of pretty sweet bands and music, such as:
 
Nirvana (not as good as everybody says, but they're still pretty good)
Foo Fighters
Soundgarden
Green Day
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Our Lady Peace
Weezer
Third Eye Blind
Garbage
Tool
....and several more!
 
Personally.

 It should be noted most of these artist continued making music into the 90s and many continue till today.

It all balls down to which rock did people like
 
The 80's were softer and more "Happy" unless you count the metal artist, and some people like those bands, the 60's were more pop bands, and people like me aren't into the whole pop rock scene, and then you have the 90's which brought about dramatic darker harder sounding bands. 
 
I believe pretty much the only band thats "soft" that i listen to is Deftones & The Black angels, but The black angels came out in 2004.  

Social Distortion  was good am a fan, but i believe they came out in 78 though i guess you can count them as 80's

Then in that case i can add Deftones & Jane's Addiction to the 90's yaaaaaaaay

Even though i would pick the 90's everytime its still hard. 
 
Because the 80's did put out such awesome kickass beautiful masterpieces such as this!, it just gets me all hot and bothered.

I'm starting to appreciate 70's and 80's music a lot more these days. Strangely 90's music, which I grew up on mostly sounds like s*#t to me now.

I went through that phase for a while as well, until i started comparing the two more and realized 60's & 70's & 80's besides metal/punk were mostly pop rock, its great to go back and look through the past but you can't stay there, i couldn't, it wasn't enough, and then i started listening to the metal of 2000's and realized that the music back then was un-evolved in comparison, and todays metal is comparable to the music Beethoven made, loud  greatly composed masterpieces.
