I heard grizzlies can knock a mans head clean off with one blow I don't believe that.5 Wolves might give a grizzly a run for its money do you?
5 Wolves vs Grizzly bear.
@23dhjyt: 5 wolves would a win and a grizzly bear is absolutely able to do that,,,,
heres a video of a grizzly vs 4 wolves obviously they dont battle to the death because that would be dumb. but if they wanted too with one more wolf they would overwhelm one eventually
@rpgesus: That is like a baby grizzly right there. It isn't much bigger than those wolves. A full grown grizzly would be like 3 or 4x that size. So I don't give that video much credence to this battle though 5 wolves may be able to take down an adult grizzly. Chances are they wouldn't fight though.
@spambot: yeah full grown grizzlies are a good amount bigger than a tiger in terms of just overall size. i just think 5 full grown wolves would eventually win with hunting skill and stuff. but in real life once one wolf dies the rest would run away and the bear wouldnt be trying to fight all those wolves either
@23dhjyt also there are many reports of bears decapitating/killing moose with 1 swipe. one was reporter by a bear researcher from a campsite saying he had bears near the campsite and saw one kill a moose with one hit to the back. he described the black bear a medium sized one. not even a full grown bear or a grizzly bear
If they are all full grown and healthy, the wolves never get through the bears layers of hair and fat.
I really doubt a Grizzly could knock a man's entire head off with one blow. You guys are seriously underestimating how strong the human spine is. Kill a man with one blow? Definitely. Knock his head off? No.
@solarpowered: idk there have apparently been 15 documented cases of moose being decapitated by one blow in the last 100 years and my old science teacher said they were at a campsite and the other couple they were with was feeding a bear and when they ran out of food the bear knocked the husbands head off with one blow so idk.

Well, unless I see an official source, I'm not believing it until I see it personally.
I say wolves can win this if every one of them are alphas and they're protecting pups. But most likely in nature that will not be the scenario and they will back down with a one lost and one wounded.
As for a grizzly paws connecting with a man's head, it's going to be as bad as a bad skull-busting sky-diving accident. I think the head could stay 55 % in tact. But it's going to be decapitated from the spine.
@rpgesus: Yea that's most definitely an adolescent grizzly, a fully grown one the wolves would be a lot more afraid of.
@solarpowered: I think your underestimating how strong a grizzly bears swipe is, it'd definitely disconnect the head from the spine, that's the weakest part of the spine. Whether or not the head would fully disconnect from the body is debatable but it would most definitely break the spine.
@23dhjyt: "I heard grizzlies can knock a mans head clean off with one blow I don't believe that."
Oh yea they most definitely can, they're ridiculously strong animals and their paws are lethal.
The wolves could do it, they're smart and good at bringing down larger, stronger animals. However, those animals are stupid and bears are not, honestly I think a fully grown grizzly could pull a majority because one hit is gonna put a wolf into all kinds of shit. Not to mention bears have thick skin and a good layer of fat, so they're good at taking a beating.
When I hear or see bear attacks none of them never show a bear showing a feat at that type of level.Anyhow why would a bear bite and scratch you when it could just one shot? That doesn't make sense because why waste more energy on prey that hardly cost any?Im still going with grizzly though the wolves would back Dow. The moment the grizzly damage one of them.

I've been doing research on grizzlies since this thread was made (for confirmation whether or not they can do this) and I haven't seen a single source that's able to verify they are strong enough to do that. This is blunt force we're talking about here. This isn't decapitation (using a sharp object or anything like that), I'm talking about knocking a man's head off with mere blunt force alone, which would take an outrageous amount of force. (Well, outrageous for any organic animal.)
@solarpowered: I'm aware but all that strength with sharp objects on the end and they could decapitate. As far as blunt force goes the neck could definitely be broken and the flesh and muscle wouldn't be in good shape. Any organic animal...what about a Gorilla? You're not likely to find much information about that kind of thing because it's pretty rare, they're very strong animals and our necks are not the most durable part of us, I can quite happily believe they are capable of doing so.

It all honestly depends on where they're striking, in my opinion.
If a Gorilla were to strike from your chin (like an uppercut), then yeah. I believe he could take your head off with blunt force.
But from the side of your head? It'd be much, much harder.
@solarpowered: We'll have to agree to disagree, I reckon both are capable.
1v1 Bear roflstomps Wolf every damn time.
But 5 wolves are like Batman doing adderal. They come up with tactics and skills that make the navy seals cream their pants. They track the bear for miles, watch it's movements, wait for a weak point, then zerg rush it. Though the wolf pack might take some causalities, the bear gets worn down and killed.
So 5v1, wolves roflstomp bear.

That bear seems to small.
if the wolves don't care about getting hurt they'll kill the bear eventually
700 pounds (311) to a grizzily bear is what 300 grams is to us. An adult grizzily bear would maul a group of wolves.
@frocharocha: if the wolves work together they could bring down a bear but it's always their fear that gets in their way
