Always knew humans were the dominant species, but never thought about the second. Any thoughts?

My guess would be cockroaches, masters of adaptation(aside from single celled organisms)

@redmonkeyssj4: Naw, the most dominant species would need to be one with no natural predators.

Mice are actually the dominant species.

How can you have a second most dominant species? That contradicts the word dominant. However....Mice or dogs? Mice, as they are everywhere. Dogs, as they do not have many predators anymore and get catered to, by humans. Although they are like slaves of our entertainment >.> Kinda lol

If humans go away, my guess is that apes or cephalopods will fill the dominant niche.

I think I know somebody who might have something to say about this... @wolverine08

Canadians have the single most awesome human in history. We are the dominant people.

@wolverine08: Is that Wolverine or Vindicator? I honestly can't tell.

I want to say sharks (lived before dinosaurs, still here) but I also think a great case can be made for whales (newer, but untouchable physically and use language)

A dolphin would pwn a shark.
