CP3 isn't a Laker yet. The owners put the deal on Hold. The Hornets have no real owner right now so the NBA owns the Hornets and have to approve their moves.

The NBA has killed the proposed deal to send Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources tell Yahoo! Sports
The owners really overstepped this time.
I agree why would they deny CP3 to LA?
Ian Segovia (Bucksketball/TrueHoop Network):
It is a possibility, that the owners aren't thinking about whether the trade is fair or not. Perhaps they're trying to send a message to that the players will not bully their way into trades. For the owners, the lockout was about getting back power more than anything. If CP3 had forced his way onto another team immediately after the lockout, then that would be a spit right in the face of the owners.

Are you guys keeping up with all this FA stuff and trades?
It's like nobody learned anything from the lockout.
Yup, no easy passes. The Lakers could still get CP3. It just won't be as soon as people think.
Lamar was apparently crying at a local radio show. Training camp for LA is going to be really awkward, lol.
WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
All along, the league office had allowed the Hornets to negotiate the Chris Paul trade without interference, sources said. And then, this.
This is some dirty stuff right here. We honestly should have just had a full-blown lockout to settle all this sh~t. One can only imagine how horrible the next lockout is going to be.
It makes no sense since CP3 will sign with a new team after this season anyways, he is not staying in New Orleans. He will be a Laker or Knick anyways.
@Mr. Smiths:
Not really. Their most likely clearing cap space in preparation for Howard and Hedo's salary (assuming any offer they make is accepted of course).

Might not get Howard and Hedo sucks now.

Yeh they might not get Howard, but its the most likely scenario, since the Magic would probably prefer to send Dwight to the Western conference than have him stay in the east; and yeh Hedo's not as good as he once was but the Lakers offering to absorb his contract is another incentive LA can offer (Im not sure if the Nets have the space to do that).
@Vance Astro: I just hope neither one of them goes to LAL. I just wish somebody like them would come to Atlanta, but I doubt we could afford it.

Seems likely that Dwight is going to the Nets and CP3 is going to the Clippers.CP3 deal just died with the Clips (for now) hopefully The Magic make some kind of push for him
That would be good, it would be even better if Chris went to Orlando and Dwight decided to stay. Or if they both decided to come to Atlanta (that's a joke).

Lamar Odom is with the Mavericks now
The Mavs are beefing up They signed Vince Carter also.
Bad move for LA to give up Odom, especially to the Mavs, and all they got in return was some cash.
Not a good move.

Agreed.
Vince Carter aint no Great Asset... You saw how he Bombed Out in the Playoffs when he was with the Magic and the Nets.@King Saturn said:

He may not be the Great Player he was but he is at least a good Backup
Is he ? Vince Carter has not really played as a Backup that long if any when he was in Phoenix.@King Saturn said:

By time he got to the Nets they was an average team at best and so was when he was in Orlando...Dallas is the world champs all he gotta do is come off the bench and provide a little bit and he be fine.
What does how good the Team is have to do with Vince Carter playing like crap in the Playoffs ? Even if the teams he was on was Average he should still have played good in the playoffs if he is actually a Good Clutch Player. Secondly, the year Vince Carter was on the Magic... the team went 59-23, I don't see how that is Average. Vince Carter has shown to be weak hearted in the Playoffs as of late.@King Saturn said:

I never said VC is clutch or could be, just that he can come off the bench and provide some stuff.
That's assuming he is willing to accept the role of Bench Player. Not everyone does well in that Role.@King Saturn said:

Well I figured he come off the bench since the Mavs already have an established starting lineup....VC certainly not starting over Odom whom I assume will be starting. And VC can adapt as a role player, he was bascially one in Orlando and NJ....but we will see.
Some players have big egos though... they won't like coming off the bench because they are used to being starters and superstars... Vince Carter could be one of those guys... though it's possible he could accept his role too since he is somewhat old now and coming towards the end of his NBA career. That's assuming he is willing to accept the role of Bench Player. he said the same thing in Orlando though...@King Saturn said:

But Orlando did not become the World Champs! He with the World Champions of Basketball.
True... but Vince Carter was part of the Reason that the Magic did not win because of his Lackluster Play in the Crunch Time...@King Saturn said:
