So apparently an 11 year old boy asked his 8 year neighbor could he see her puppy, she said no and he went and grabbed his father's shotgun and shot her from his house according to reports thus far.

All I can say is wtf is going on

If this is True the father should be locked up, it's not hard to buy a gun lock. The kid needs serious help, and should be punished as well.

This is what happens when father raise their kids to be sociopaths that believe they deserve anything and put no limits to them.

Its pretty obvious the kid had problems, but again the parents did nothing.

But like always bad parents cause all of this and no one is going to talk about bad parenting.

Its all going to be about guns and mental problems.

I am even sure some people will blame video games.

Its never bad parenting!!!

$10 could have saved a life, I'm pro gun but if you can't keep your guns locked up and safely out of reach from children then you should NOT own a gun. I think it should now be required that you take Firearm classes and be required that you have a safe way of keeping the guns unusable/unobtainable by people who might do this kind of sick crap.

The only way to stop 11 year olds from shooting 8 year olds is obviously to arm the 8 year olds.

A good kid with a gun can stop a bad kid with a gun...

Hmmmmm

I don't remember most eleven year olds being that willing to kill or is that just me? Obviously no eleven year old is gonna be like fully developed but I could of sworn that me and at least most of my friends knew that murder was bad.

Or at the very least TV taught me cold blooded murder was bad and only bad guys did it.

Sorry if that sounds dumb XD

Just can't ever really fathom thinking like that when that old or maybe I'm just remembering being eleven wrong.

The father should be locked up for not locking g up his gun

Uh, no. I knew where my parents kept their guns since the time I was four. They weren't locked up and they weren't secured, yet I didn't shoot anybody nor was I ever tempted. Why? Because I was told not to touch the weapons without permission, and I was raised by parents who actually gave me discipline and instruction. I doubt this little monster could say the same.

Assuming this kid wasn't mentally impaired, he was perfectly capable of knowing right from wrong, yet he chose wrong. If he had chosen to kill the eight year old with a knife, chances are very good this story would have ended in the exact same way. The problem is moral corruption not the lack of a gun locker.

@batwatch:

honestly there are many variables. we would have to know this persons upbringing, lifestyle, backstory and so on... assuming the story is real.

This thread was taken seriously. I'm on the wrong website

because actual shit like that happens, so I don't blame people for that.

Lock the little shit away for good, I knew damn well the difference between what I should and shouldn't do by that age so there's no excuse for this monster. Have the parents publicly flogged and also shoved into prison as well, I'm tired of shit like this going on because of lackwit parents not providing proper safety measures with firearms around minors and not providing proper discipline to their precious little snowflakes.

Want a gun and have a clean record/bill of mental health? By all means, if you want one one, get one, get as many as you want, I don't care, but if you display a level of negligence and irresponsibility in their use that gets someone else hurt or killed, the punishment should be severe.

Also, the father (IMO) should be held fully accountable for her death too, pretty much treat/punish him as if he was the one that walked out there and shot that little girl in the chest. I know its harsh but there needs to be some sort of law put in place so adults will think twice about leaving their guns so accessible to other people, mainly their children.

Also idk why this thread shouldn't be taken seriously though this happened, it was on the evening news yesterday.

That murderous, disgusting kid has problems. His parents should've disciplined him and sought help for his mental condition.

R.I.P to the other kid. Such a shame she had to die so early in her life.

Just get rid of the guns it will save lives. Come on everyone likes guns there cool and they make you feel powerfull. But do you really need them when having them around is clearly causing deaths? The parents may have been bad and awfull at it but the fact is if that kid had just run at the girl and attacked her she still might be alive. But the fact he grabbed a gun and shot her sealed her fate. Guns may not kill people, people kill people but guns do increase the chance of a successfull kill. Youse really need to have a nation wide vote on the guns law.

@chazz85: They save way more lives and prevent more crimes than they take/create. That'd be like if we banned doctors because sometimes they accidentally and inadvertently kill their patients.

Considering that there are more armed civilians than there are cops, I'm pretty sure we know how the vote would go.

Stop trying to make this a gun thing, he could have easily used a knife. This kid was just a piece of shit, and there not enough gun control in the world to change that.

It is a gun thing though. He used a shotgun because his father didn't properly lock it up. It's literally all about a complete lack of Gun Control.

Maybe he would have used a knife...maybe not. It's rather hard to stab someone next door without stepping off your porch though.

That's simply a factor of the parent being an irresponsible idiot.

There are plenty of cases where teenagers murder their parents in their sleep with knives (and in comes cases, sledgehammers).

Do you constantly lock your knives up at all times?

This isn't a teenager. He didn't attack anyone while they were sleeping. Yes, there are cases where teenagers used knives or hammers to kill their parents in their sleep. They waited for their parents to sleep because they didn't want to risk them putting up a fight. When you can kill someone from across the street before they even know what's happening you don't have to worry about a fight. Which is closer to what happened here. This boy grabbed an unsecured shotgun and used it to kill the girl next door.

I'm not denying that obviously the boy in question has some serious mental issues....but that makes it even more important to keep firearms away from him. Do you think people that are mentally unstable should have unrestricted access to guns?

Also your 3rd statement contradicts your first.

Kids got anger issues. We're this close to a purge society.
