Anyone else miss 616 nick fury?

As an older comic book fan it's hard seeing the 1610 and movie version all the time in marvel products and stories set in the 616 universe.

I'm not heartbroken since I never had a big connection with Fury.

I really never understood the appeal of Ultimate Nick Fury. He's never done anything impressive. 616 Nick Fury was great in secret invasion, and I'm glad he's finally starting to be more recurring being in every story arch of Captain America and Winter Soldier.

Yeah, has no one been reading Winter Soldier? He's a big part of that series. If you miss Nick/Bucky or just liked the Bourne movies, I would definitely recommend it.

I miss the original. The Sam Jackson one kinda grates on me a bit. His cool seems a bit forced.

I have a feeling AoU might be the last we see of Original Nick Fury for a long time. At least until Marvel's fascination with New Nick Fury dies down. But I like 616 Fury in 616. Even though they're technically different people, Ultimate Fury should stay in Ultimate.

I'm not sure how I feel about the New Fury yet and I did like Old Nick but honestly I'm really just not that interested in Marvel currently.

Yes I do. The old fury was so badass and just the way he goes about his ways not letting people dictate how to run things.

More to the point, you are an idiot for calling a guy out as racist for describing a black guy as black & a white guy as white. He even censored/doctored the original 'offending' comment because of your P.C. thuggery. It's one of the most distinguishing features that set the characters apart. Considering there is now a second 616 Fury who is black (GASP! I know! I said it).
Of course people are going use it when discussing them to differentiate to between the two and now three. Bigotry or racism don't even come into it.

I don't. I say "Original Nick Fury", "Ultimate Nick Fury", and "Nick Fury Junior". No need to bring race into it when there's already obvious names for them.

@theacidskull: To be fair, Ultimate Nick Fury looked like Sam Jackson years before the films came out. And the only reason Sam Jackson allowed Marvel to make Nick fury look like him is so he would have an excuse to play Nick Fury if there were films that had the character in them.

Right here. But as long as they keep making the Avengers film with Sam Jackson as Fury it will be a long time til we see classic Fury back anytime soon.

I grew up on old grizzled WWII vet nick fury (pretty much ultimate nick fury's and current 616's dad) and he's actually a bad@$$ and that's who I wanna see. now they've even fazed him out of the 616 universe and brought in his black son.

new Nick fury isn't even nick fury he's marcus johnson....

I want the original Nick Fury to come out of retirement and back into the forefront of SHIELD, I've tried to give Nick, Jr. a chance but he's boring. Hill is a stuck up shrew, Daisy is a moron, and Nick Fury was the only man who could run SHIELD the best and most appropriate way. Old school Nick is the man.

It just feels wrong with him out of the picture. I'm realizing that more and more now as the years pass in these books.

This is my Nick Fury. Will he ever show up in the main Marvel universe or in the movies? No. It's their loss though since he's the most amazing version of the character that is, was, or ever shall be, and I'm more than happy with the thirteen issues of him that I got.

i like both versions of Fury, I just wish Marvel wasn't pretending one didn't exist
