I remember a time when people complained Marvel was putting out too many X-Men comics. Then there was a time they were putting out a bunch of Avengers comics. People also complain about so many Batman-related comics at DC. With MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR, Marvel is definitely reaching outside the box to give us something different. And that's a great thing.

I was never a huge fan of Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy. I absolutely appreciated them for who/what they were. Seeing Devil Dinosaur in the recent PLANET HULK Secret Wars tie in series was fun but it didn't really leave me hankering for more Devil Dinosaur action. With this issue, I am curious and interested in seeing more of him.

Brandon Montclare and Amy Reeder introduce us to a brilliant young girl named Lunella. She wants, more than anything, to get into a really good school where she can use her mind and have it nurtured. She faces some of the typical problems a young child faces at school but her focus on learning alienates her from her classmates and teachers. She has a certain level of spunk that will capture your heart as you see how she's trying to push herself and discovers an object that will change pretty much everything.

Natacha Bustos' art and Tamra Bonvillain's colors are great for the series. It's a joy when kid characters actually look like kids and not just miniature adults. There's a nice look to the series. It has a really cool vibe going on. We get to see Lunella's bedroom, school, playground, and even Moon Boy's era. The big question is, what will Lunella do with Devil Dinosaur when he appears in her time? (You can check out the preview HERE if you haven't already).

You have to love it when a comic publisher gives us something different. Will MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR be for everyone? Maybe. Maybe not. It's just refreshing to get something like this. It's great and important to have a book that represents other readers. What matters to me most is my daughter really got a kick out of the issue as well. Lunella, Moon Girl, is a wonderful new character and who doesn't want to see Devil Dinosaur in the modern day Marvel Universe? You can feel there's something special going on with this series and it's definitely worth checking out.

Yeah...this is not for me. I read it and well...I already couldn't stand the "child geniusahhh" trope but this, this went way above and beyond that...

I liked it, the art for devil D was great and while a lot of it was who's who. I appreciated how Moon Girl actually earned her title of genius through hard work and showing it to us. Rather than I am a genius cause I say so.

Looks interesting, almost reminds me of Kitty and Lockhead.

Curious, what happened to Moon Boy anyway? I lost track of him after Mysti Knight grabbed him so that the government could enslave/experiment on him.

Looks cute, might not pick it up because my pull list is just too long at this point in time, But with that said nice to see a true all age book being published.

Me and my daughter are definitely looking forward to it. I like Devil and Moon Boy, but I think there's plenty of room for Luna to borrow Devil for a while!

I have to agree. There's a trend of young teens to be main feature in a book. However, there's nothing there drawing me in.

I preferred devil dinosaur's look from the secret wars Planet Hulk mini series. Anywho the art in this book was ehhh, i wasn't blown away.the story seemed like it Might pick up on the next issue, but i dont think ill be buying...

If they can do a groot series by himself, and IDW can do godzilla by himself why not a solo devil dinosaur?? That ill buy...
